Meet Natalie Flores

We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Flores and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie, how do you define success?
Success for me personally is different depending on where I am at in life in the current moment. This week I’m grateful to have gotten enough sleep and exercise while juggling a family and multiple businesses. I am healthy, I have a roof over my head and I have plenty of good nourishing food in my fridge to eat and feed my family. Success isn’t the money in the bank. It is healthy and long lasting relationships, it is the consistency of small mile stones performed over LONG periods of time.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work is really just being a community member. We all play various rolls in society and I’d like to remember when I was a little more lost in my younger years all the people throughout the community that helped guide mentor and catch me when I was down. NourishLA was founded because we saw a need in our community and in the instant I felt compelled and called to be of service however I could. It was with the help of our community we have been able to grow and create a place for people to get healthy and nourishing groceries for the week, no questions asked.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are so blessed to have such magical and incredible spots in our city.
Firstly, we’d go to Groundwork coffee and get a Hemp Latte, walk down the boardwalk to see a whirlwind of activity and then lunch at Lodge Bread (they have the best Italian sandwich on organic sourdough focaccia bread).. After lunch we’d hike up Baldwin Hills stairs to get an amazing work out and a stunning view of the city. For Dinner we’d head to the Marina to take our shoes off and have sushi the right way at Irori sushi. We would walk around the harbor for sunset and catch some of the beautiful birds in the wetlands.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The person who deserves all the glory is my husband, he is my best friend and my mentor. He has stuck by my side through all the trials and tribulations of running multiple businesses and a non-profit. He has helped me to navigate sticky situations and have never let me give up when the going got tough. I’d also like to thank God, remaining prayerful in a chaotic world has helped keep my heart and mind at peace and helps to remind me that service unto others is really the gift we pay while on earth.
