We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Kouzouyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalie, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I am generally a creative person. I live for creating new collections and look forward to new season trends. Working with fabrics, really gets my creative juices flowing. However I wouldn’t necessarily say that my entire job is creative, because there is a lot of other not so fun stuff that I do on a regular basis. With that being said, I do really enjoy the time I get working on collections.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The most recent challenge we’ve faced, like many other industries, is Covid. With this new post pandemic world we’re settling into, I think the only thing to do as a company in the apparel industry is to roll with the changes. As it is already, the apparel industry was hit hard by Covid, because who is buying clothes? Let alone mens suits? So you have to evolve otherwise you’ll be left behind and before you know it, you’ll be forgotten. I’m keeping our company fresh with new innovative fabrics not typically seen before in mens traditional formalwear and were doubling down on our e-commerce platform. Thats something to look out for in the near future! Additionally I have a female’s sense of fast fashion, so I’m always calling the latest trends before they hit the men’s market, which keeps us one step ahead of our competitors!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When I have friends in town, I love to mix up the itinerary with a little bit of everything! We could start off the day with Los Leones hiking trail, which overlooks the ocean in Pacific Palisades. Followed by a nice brunch at Soho Little Beach House. I would propose a couple of fun places to go to dinner where we could get dressed up and have some good food and good wine! I like Scopa for Italian, Nobu for sushi, or Tonys Taverna for Mediterranean!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes- I’d love to shout out to my dad. My dad started the company 35 years ago, and got me into the industry. Without his eye for fashion and attention to detail, I don’t think I would be as passionate about the apparel industry as I am. When I started with the company, we had one location. Now we have 3, as well as a strong e-commerce platform. If my dad didn’t encourage me along the way or believe in my vision, I wouldn’t have been able to open the two other retail stores and expand the business. He also let me get super creative with the garments and collections and expand into other ready wear collections. We used to be strictly formalwear and now we have everything from jeans, chinos, polos, t-shirts, outerwear etc. and I wouldn’t have been able to do any of these things if I wasn’t given the space to shine. My dad believes in everything that I do, and has been such a great support system throughout my career.
