We had the good fortune of connecting with Natasha Ray and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natasha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset from a kid.. It’s always been important for me to do what I love and enjoy- I must be intentional in what I do in life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Noir Men’s Grooming Lounge was created after years of pondering on bringing my services exclusively to men.

I started my career as a manicurist in Washington DC , nursing homes and hospice and realized that no one called me to assist the men .
I noticed that most men had finger nails and toe nails that were being neglected which cause them pain and enabled them to walk properly. Seeing this sparked something in me, I also recognized that most men felt nail care was for woman and didn’t understand that its apart of your health and wellness and had nothing to do with gender. I wanted to change the narrative . My career has taken me into amazing spaces from nursing homes, hospice, maternity wards, New York Fashion Week, Magazines, as well as owning my own shop on Capital Hill in DC. Then it hit me- it was time to do the one thing that I knew would set me apart from everyone else! It was time to focus on Men and curate my experience so that I could maintain an all mens clientele.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Here we go… We would start our vacation with a girls day at the spa where we would relax and reset. We would get massages, spend time in the steam room, jacuzzi, lay out on the jade floor, and do some stretching in the hydration room. Next we would head out to eat lunch at The Grove while People watching.
The next day would be a beach day- I would drive my friend down the coast with the top down listening to old school R&B while we sing our hearts out and reflect on how far we have come!
We would sit by the beach in Malibu and take pictures, Tik Tok videos while snacking on fresh fruit, cheese, crackers and champagne!
After laying out in the sun for a few hours we would head back to my house – change and head back out to dinner at Nobu. I love sushi and of course when friends come to LA they want to see the so called popular spots.
The next morning I would wake up fix us a light breakfast before we head out to hike / experience a waterfall and meditate.
My week with my friend would be life changing as we would do all the things that would encourage intentional living and self love!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I must dedicate my drive, push, and focus on being a single mom of two amazing humans who’s existence encouraged me to see what I had “inside” which gave me the energy to “BECOME” all I could be from the Inside – OUT…

Thank you Santana and Naomi for choosing me.
