Meet Nazanin Nour | Actor and Writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nazanin Nour and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nazanin, why did you pursue a creative career?
It was something that was very innate. I like connecting to people through shared experiences. I like creating things that inspire people to reflect and feel a range of emotions, and feel seen. I also love making people laugh, and feel happy, and feel accepted for who they are. I enjoy creating things that give a platform, or voice, to causes and people that I feel others should know about. It makes me happy to create, to collaborate, and to express myself through different mediums.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
There are currently two new projects that I’m very proud of.
One is a short horror film called All Of You. I co-wrote it, and co-starred in it, and it was directed by Shahrzad Davani. A brief synopsis of All Of You is: What happens when a modern day woman’s subconscious fears about romantic relationships comes to life…and possibly death.
We premiered at the River Run International Film Festival, and have screened at numerous festivals over the last couple of months. Our next screening will be on October 9th at the Los Feliz Theater, as a part of the short film selection for Beyond Fest, which is the highest attended genre film festival in the U.S.
The second project is a music video collaboration with Iranian Canadian artist, Afta Hill, called I Don’t See The Point. This was directed by Kia Mozaffari. The concept for this project started as a short film that I wanted to do, and I didn’t ant it to have any dialogue. Once I had spoken to Afta and Kia about this idea, it turned into a collaboration that ultimately led us to shoot it as the official music video for Afta’s new song, I Don’t See The Point. It tells the story of how loneliness, anxiety, and a lack of human connection can lead a person to feel alone and unseen in this world, and feeling like they’re on an island by themselves when it comes to the struggles of mental health.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Any rooftop bar in Hollywood or West Hollywood. All of the hikes (Runyon, Griffith, etc) and Tiago for a delicious latte.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All of the friends and artists who have trusted my vision for collaboration.
