We had the good fortune of connecting with Sisto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sisto, what do you attribute your success to?
Anytime I’ve struggled in my life, I’ve fallen back to root philosophy that gives you perspective on not only your current situation but your courage to continue down difficult paths. “If you’re not scared of your dreams, they’re not big enough” is something I’ve lived by since the beginning of this project and it has kept my mental state and motivation on a relatively stable path.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m very proud of the fact that I’ve created an actual community around my music. Music became my home by the time I was 10 years old. It was always my place I could go to when I had noone. Now that I’m in this position of being able to create that space for people, it makes me speechless.

I think the biggest lesson and challenge within this industry is surrounding yourself with charismatic and loving people. It’s very hard to find a space to fit in. The scene is full of clichés and groups of people who often times have seen the absolute best and absolute worst in people, creating very interesting personalities. That being said, your best approach to showing this world who you are is 100% being yourself. By doing this, you’ll either create your own space, or find one that will grow so much stronger with you in it.

SISTO is about the story of the faceless. People who lost interest in looking at the world for what it is but want to listen to their minds. Betrayal, Love, Revenge, and Solitude. These are all features of my brand that I’m excited to continue to explore and portray through my music and artwork. Much much more to come.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Not gonna lie, we’d sit in my room and make music for 7 days straight and eat nothing but Pho because those are the only good food spots in San Jose lololol

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout to every single friend and my team in the music industry that’s given me critical feedback in times of extreme difficulty. Whether it was about my music or my personal life, I’m forever in debt to them for keeping my head straight despite my best efforts.
