Meet Nicolaus Robinson | Content Creator & Bodybuilder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicolaus Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicolaus, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I definitely think the best things happen organically because it wasn’t something I was planning initially. I was always really creative growing up but I did grow up in the 90s where doing anything creative or artsy was frowned upon because it “was unrealistic” and “didn’t bring in money” so I stuck to my artistic side as a hobby while taking the traditional route of school, college then career. Around college I started working out and happened to be a natural at it and coincidentally, social media had also started to take off and people were getting paid lots of money to do it. People started telling me to start a YouTube or make videos online and I decided to give it a shot since I could express my artistic outlet online while also continuing to better my health. I still worked but once I started to make money from it and see how many others could do it too, that’s when I decided to fully make the jump.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Now, my content itself is centered around fitness but what sets me apart is that I’m the only person in the fitness space (currently) who doesn’t fit in any box and I’m basically the weird anomaly because everything I do, goes against traditional fitness. I drink a lot of soda, eat a lot of sweets, go to the gym on drugs, etc, yet I am significantly stronger than most people, super lean, have a six pack, etc. There is nobody else making some of the content I do and a lot of my content is very experimental. One of my first videos I ever did was documenting me going to the gym on magic mushrooms (which there will be a part 2 soon hint hint) and that put a spotlight on me and original ideas like that is why I believe I’m starting to have unique opportunities now. It’s tricky because I’m in strange territory and YouTube and instagram doesn’t know what to do with me (I get age restricted, one of my instagrams with 55k got banned, etc) so I have to be really particular about how I go about things now, but I think that is what makes me unique. I’m just being myself, having fun and seeing what new things I can bring to a community that isn’t used to different ideas and ideologies. I’m learning that if you do things organically and it’s meant to be, it’ll happen and I also want people to know not to be afraid to be yourself or be different because that is what sets you apart from everyone and just have fun.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love this question and I’m also not going to keep anything politically correct, but I’m going to categorize what we’ll do. Before anything food wise, we’re going to smoke then go to all you can eat Korean BBQ or Sushi first and if you don’t like those, you aren’t a homie of mine, lol. We gotta get a pizza from Round Table or at the very least a build your own from Blaze Pizza. I fucking love pizza. Lucille’s is a must cause who the hell doesn’t like BBQ? Also, we aren’t on a diet if you’re visiting so I hope you’re ready for Krispy Kreme.
For places to hang out and visit, DEFINITELY we’re going to Round One (which is infinitely better than Dave and Busters btw). I love arcade games, pool and bowling so that’s a must. We for sure have to go to the forest or private beach just to get away from our phones and noise to just breath and take in the air and maybe take some psychedelics if the time or mood is right. I do like to look at art so any art museum would be in the plans. Comedy shows where the comedian is black and from the hood, we’re going lol and then of course, we’re hitting the gym 5 days a week and a different gym everyday to switch things up. Fun fact, if you ever want to see some interesting or straight up ridiculous/weird people, go to the gym from 5pm to 8pm and you always get some amusement.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family first and foremost, they’ve always supported me and kept me safe and did an amazing job raising me and believing in me. I wouldn’t be the person I am without them. All of my close friends, for helping me with the journey and supporting me and making amazing memories with me along the way. Alyssa and Gavin, always there for me, hyping me up, supporting me and making life easy and fun. I’ll always protect you guys and just know when things get even bigger I got you guys always and I love you guys. And everyone else in the gym community, the people I help, and even the people I don’t know that give me nice compliments and stop to talk to me and ask questions, I appreciate you guys as well. I love life and every experience I have with people make me thankful to be alive.
