We had the good fortune of connecting with Nina Franqui-Hollomon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nina, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
I little dose of drudgery every day kills your purpose, The spice of life is using your skill sets, talents and vision that creates a purposed filled life, Understanding that toil takes place in any endeavor you wish to pursue. However dying to that every day can be a dream killer or motivator, depending how you use it to motivate you.

What should our readers know about your business?
BootieButtah endeavors to research, harvest, and blend “Plant based botanicals” for hair and body care.

Self care should not
come at the consumers
own expense of due to
the lack of transparency on a label.

BootieButtah began this quest to offer sound botanical choices in 2015, after finding and researching labels.
My local beauty supplies in Inglewood Ca soliciting to black/brown consumers, are laden with many harmful
toxic chemical components in bath, body and hair compositions.

Many claimed to be “organically sound” However far from the truth!

farm to packaging process from
small independent vendors who practice
ethical sourcing organic respect and integrity.

We offer labels ingredients, unrefined butters, balms, oils, body handcrafted in personal self care offerings.

Nina Franqui’s career path took her into social work, with disenfranchised populations. Homeless advocacy and social justice work in urban communities of Compton, Watts, Inglewood, South Central, East and Downtown Los Angeles.
Which all have disparities or a lack of quality non toxic self care products on store shelves in their neighborhoods.

Nina’s began creating BootieButtah from her grandmothers self care rituals imparted to her as a child.
BootieButtah was born as need to address her own self care and wellness rituals organically, mindfully, tangibly.

2015 was an epic challenge that brought Nina’s to task on her resolve to harness the power of botanicals. Her daughter had a five year cancer battle, using her botanical know how. Assisted keeping the integrity of her daughters skin with a special blend of BootieButtah during chemotherapy session. She lovingly calls “Rad Buttah”

She is a thriving, licensed esthetician in the state of Henderson Nevada. I dedicate this to her,.. “We Swing Till We Win”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Jump in a Jeep, top off… ride down Crenshaw Boulevard, stop at Mingles Tea Bar , Inglewood CA for some homemade peach cobbler and some french pressed tea .This black owned and operated community gem is off the chain. Sit, Sip take in the beautifully melanated locals.

Get on PCH….Continue the journey .Cruise up highway CA-1 to the Redwoods, on the way up stop at Deetjens for some eggs benedict and mimosas. Stay two day in this historic landmark. Then check in to the Spa (Alila ) at Ventana, Big Sir…. AHHHH!
After a full body treatment and mani pedi, stop at Pfeiffer Bid Sur State Park for a stroll and take in the majesty that is Cali!
