We had the good fortune of connecting with Noah Howard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Noah, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Art has always been there for me. When the noise of limited thinking clouded the view, Art provided a clear path. Through art I have gained so much support and encouragement to keep going. I remember sitting on the floor of my sisters apartment, just a few months after dropping out of college. I remember feeling so lost – that was until I remembered the talent I naturally carry. I gathered my supplies and created for the first time since high school. From that day on I began telling myself I could be a great like Michelangelo or Van Gogh. I made the necessary changes for success, like resuming school and getting back in the groove of things. In doing so, I have developed my own artistic process. When I was lost I could have given up. It sure would have been a lot easier to; however, hard work truly pays off. In short, art saved me before I even knew I needed saved. It would be wrong of me to turn my back on something that has always been there for me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In terms of what keeps me busy – I work on an array of projects in all different mediums. Pet portraits, landscapes, and personal projects of healing are currently filling my drafting table. Last year I became very interested in stop motion animation, so I started producing my own. Designing sets, editing, applying sound effects and more all come together to create movie magic. My personal artistic process offers me so many thoughts to ponder; meditate on. It is in these thoughts that new projects are born.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in the middle of nowhere, so to think of someone visiting here and expecting a city makes me chuckle. After the shock of no city surpassed, I’d take them down to the general store just before the railroad tracks. On our way we might hear the click clack of horse-drawn Amish buggies rolling through town. After we grab some 75 cent sandwiches and a bottle of pop, we might go for a hike up one of the many hills that overlooks us at all times. Individuals not from here refer to them as mountains, but to me, they’re just hills rolling so majestically. At the top we can view settlements as far as the eye can see. If you listen, maybe you’ll hear the howl of a wild animal, or maybe that was the train! Either way, there’s nothing like this place. Baked goods, manure filled air, dirt roads – this is the life.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To all my family, friends, fans and foes – I would not be in this glorious position without any of them. There are far too many to list. I am so appreciative of  them all.
