We had the good fortune of connecting with None illa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi None, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I fell in love with self expression. I love the personality that comes with being yourself. Music is one of the most intimate ways to connect with others while expressing yourself. Once I got in front of a mic, the rest was history.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Everything I touch is unapologetically me. From music, to knowledge I share, to videos I direct. I’m proud that I see the growth in everything I do, from the beginning to the ending phase. I started off only focused on being an artist, as time progressed I wanted to put more artists in a position to live off music.

Through multiple degrees, schooling, and building key relationships it added to my success. However, I’m nowhere near where I want to be. But blessed to not only have the vision, but the drive to execute no matter what gets in the way.

I want the world to know my brand and my story because where I’m from, we weren’t taught HOW to succeed. We weren’t taught HOW to make sure others are successful around you. We weren’t taught the importance of creating a life while making sure you live in the process.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It’s bad. For me, I’m always wrapped up in the studio or diving into some creative lol. But most people who come out west want to see the beach, and enjoy the Cali feel. So Venice beach would be top of the list, and then we’d have to hit up Roscoes, Fat Sals or Mr. Fries Man.

Honestly LA is LA for a REASON… the things to do are endless, it just depends on the mood. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I honestly give it to God. My entire life journey has been built from the RIGHT people being placed in my life at the RIGHT times. From a youngin’ up until now. Without that leadership, I would be nothing. The combination of knowledge and life experiences I face, keeps me going and becoming wiser to keep pushing forward.
