We had the good fortune of connecting with Nourah Al Hasawi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nourah, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always been drawn to filmmaking, but producing is where I ultimately found where I’m truly suited. I love the creative side of the industry, but I’m at my strongest when I’m building the structure that allows a project to function. Producing gives me the space to lead with clarity, organize the workflow, support the director, and guide cast and crew so everyone can focus on doing their best work. It’s where my problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills all align. I enjoy turning creative visions into something real making sure the production feels cohesive, efficient, and rooted in purpose.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey really began when I moved to Los Angeles to study at the New York Film Academy. That experience is what launched my career it gave me hands-on training, real set experience, and the opportunity to learn the industry from the inside out. It was the foundation that allowed me to step confidently into filmmaking and understand what it truly takes to bring a project to life.
My work today is defined by a balance of creativity and structure. What sets me apart is that I approach every project with both the eye of a storyteller and the mindset of a producer. I care deeply about the emotional core of a story, but I’m also someone who thrives on planning, problem-solving, and guiding cast and crew with clarity. I’m most proud of the environments I create on set — supportive, grounded, and efficient — where everyone feels prepared and able to do their best work.
Getting to where I am professionally wasn’t easy. Navigating the industry in Los Angeles, far from home, meant long hours, cultural adjustments, and moments where I had to prove myself through consistency and work ethic rather than words. I overcame those challenges by staying adaptable, asking questions, and embracing every role, no matter how big or small.
Along the way, I’ve learned that leadership in filmmaking is about communication, respect, and creating a space where people feel confident in what they do. I’ve learned the value of staying calm, being prepared, and supporting the team at every stage of production.
What I want the world to know about my brand and my story is that I value intention, professionalism, and authenticity. I care about the craft, the people behind it, and the integrity of the work we create together. Every project I take on is approached with respect, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to delivering something meaningful. My story is still growing, but it’s built on dedication, growth, and a deep passion for bringing stories to life.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my friends and, most significantly, my parents. They have been the steady support behind my filmmaking journey, especially in the early years when I was finding my way in Los Angeles. Pursuing a creative career comes with uncertainty, but my parents never questioned my direction instead, they backed me with genuine support, trust, and the freedom to grow. That foundation allowed me to focus entirely on my craft, build real on-set experience, and develop as a filmmaker and producer. My friends also deserve recognition for being the people who kept me balanced, motivated, and grounded throughout the process. Their collective support shaped both my personal and professional growth, and I’m incredibly grateful for that.
