We had the good fortune of connecting with Ohajij and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ohajij, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I look at risk like rolling dice. It doesn’t require much skill or knowledge. You can win or lose big, but the guts that it takes to put it all on the line could be quite rewarding. Taking risks for me played a big factor in where I am and where I could be honestly. At times I’ve overweighed the risk factor But nonetheless, it was the chances I took that got me the best results .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
If they care, lol what id like for people to understand about my music is – it’s black and white. It’s not animated or overly hyper which I understand is not like the popular music of today’s era, but that’s what I’m most excited and proud of about my music. I’ll continue to grow sonically while still remaining true to myself and my core fans. The space we dwell in as far as music consumption is a challenge for an artist like myself; but the fact that I can stay in my lane with this s*** without being too influenced by what’s going on outside is my trophy as well as my message. BE YOURSELF DESPITE THE PRESSURES TO BE SOMEONE YOURE NOT. More Valid Decisions <3

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well my best friends don’t visit me because they’re terrible friends with excuses that they’re halfway across the world. Haha nah, but if you come visit Ohaji were at ultrium studios in NH from 7-10am mandatory! then were sliding to the “Green Leaf” restaurant off Hollywood Blvd for the swell brunch & Casamigo mimosa vibes. Then we’d head to Palos Verdes for a scenic hike, light read or bike ride on the strand. Afterwards we head to lunch at “sweet greens” on sunset Blvd for the good vegetarian eats. In & out burger for them if they’re meat eaters (pause). After that…. I’d like to spend an hour or 2 @ the “Amoeba music” music store and listen to a few old school records & jam out for a bit. Skating is hobby of mine, so we forsure forsure have to hit up “World on Wheels” skating rink Off top! Afterwards… possibly hit one of my fav rooftop spots “OUE Skyspace LA” for a night cap, light wine sipping overseeing LAs city view.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Off top I want to shoutout God and my family for supporting me in whatever I choose to do. My brother Quannie for being my biggest inspiration. S/O every last one of my supporters that ever streamed my music or pressed the like button on IG lol My city Detroit of course! Shoutout to my true best friends they know who they are. Shoutout to one of my college professors Dr Showell, for giving me some of the best game I could ever receive! Shoutout my grandma for seeing in me what I couldn’t always see in myself. All my music partners at Hustleward what’s poppin. S/O Voyage LA, and last but not least I wanna shoutout myself! for being A go getter, and a noble human being.
