We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was simply to to follow my truest passion of makeup artistry. I followed my passion and the business organically followed. I remember providing makeup services (free of charge) back in the 90’s. I had no idea that 10 years later I would be introduced to a world renowed fashion photographer who would become my mentor and biggest cheerleader. Her guidance and support helped me grow and learn the business side of makeup artistry. In 2000, I became a brand and a business and i haven’t looked back!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a nationally published fashion and editorial makeup artist working in Beauty, Print, Fashion, Television and Bridal. My work has been featured in several magazines and I have been an international beauty contributor. I was selected as the Lead Makeup Artist for Kim Vo and Schwarzkopf Professional and most recently named Brand Makeup Artist for Nicck Townsend Salon.

I am most proud of my luxury beauty brand, L I V by Olivia Bell, that will be launching November 2022! These luxury lip products will be available online at www.TheOliviaBell.com. This is my baby and I couldn’t be more excited to share my dream with the world.

Although this journey has not always been easy, it has been the most beautiful and fulfilling adventure that I have ever been on. Because I am a woman of faith, I always trusted where God was leading me. His word says that my gift shall make room for me and when things got challenging, that is what i concentrated on. For me it was important to surround myself with a group of people that 1.) would pray with and for me, 2.) that offered mentorship, support and encouragement and 3.) people that i could learn from and grow with! The biggest lesson I have learned along the way is that I am enough!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Hopefully now you can see why Easton Town Center is one of my favorite place to hang out. There is so much to do and something for everyone.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a village to be thankful for. God is the source of it all and my first gratitude goes to Him! My grandmother was my first inspiration, my first glimpse of beauty and my first face that i touched with a makeup brush. My wonderful husband, Mark, who spends countless hours in the makeup stores with me. My children are my biggest motivation! My sister Nicole McClendon and my sisters in Christ, Stephanie Matthews, Cierra Swingle, Dr. Bernadette Anderson and Jennifer Farmer. My dear friend Brian C. Hawkins. AND of course every client that has trusted me with face. From my humble heart I am grateful for YOU!
