We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Nelson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I got into this career because I love creating, connecting, and, honestly, having fun. Whether I’m acting or modeling, I’m in my element when I get to play, try new things, and be a part of something bigger than myself. It keeps me curious, keeps me growing, and never really feels like work. I also love meeting new people all the time. I meet such amazing, creative poeple. Getting to build relationships with others and make people smile is what I love most. I want my life to be as fun and fulfilling as it can possibly be. This career path, though daunting and a bit soul-crushing at times, keeps me on my toes and gives me lots of fun stories to share with my loved ones.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is rooted in emotion, curiosity, and play. Whether I’m acting in a film, performing on stage, or modeling for a brand, I’m always chasing the feeling of being fully present and alive in the moment. What sets me apart is my sensitivity—I lean into it. It helps me connect with people, bring depth to characters, and show up authentically in everything I do.

I’m most excited when I get to work on projects that feel magical and a little offbeat, things that leave room for spontaneity and humanity. I’ve had to grow a lot to get where I am today. The path hasn’t always been easy. I’ve faced rejection, health challenges, and the pressure to be “on” all the time. But every challenge helped me stay grounded and get clearer about why I do this.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that your uniqueness is your power. You don’t need to fit a mold. You just need to keep showing up, stay curious, and find joy in the process.

At the end of the day, I want people to know that my work—whether it’s a performance, a campaign, or a collaboration—is about connection. I’m here to tell stories, have fun, and bring something positive into the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There is so much that I would want to show them. Honestly too much so I’ll try to stick to the most important!
-Beach days in Laguna
-Disneyland if they have never been
-Any revolving sushi spots or KBBQ
-Getty Museum
-Irvine Spectrum shopping date
-If they aren’t from California we are getting In-n-Out for sure

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many wonderful people that have contributed to my journey. The first ones that come to mind are the women in my life that have stood by me and pushed for me to keep going after this dream. My mom needs a medal for all the times she has pulled me out of the ditch of despair and told me to keep moving. I share every victory with her.
I was also incredibly blessed to be super close to both of my grandmothers. They remind me every time I talk to them that they are my biggest fans. Having my girls in my corner makes me feel invincible.
I also have to thank my acting professors throughout my schooling who helped make me fall in love with the craft even more. Their wisdom and enthusiasm were contagious. Not only did my acting improve, but who I was as a person was changed for good. Lastly, I want to thank my agencies that believed in me. Their guidance and protection is something I will always be grateful for.
