We had the good fortune of connecting with Oludara Adeeyo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Oludara, how do you think about risk?
When I think of risk, I think of fear. The greatest accomplishments are usually beyond fear. The biggest risk I will always take is to bet on myself and go after whatever is in my heart when it comes to my career. I walked away from a career as a journalist to chase the dream of being a mental health professional. The biggest career risk of my life has not strayed me wrong.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve learned to always be teachable and take initiative in my career. Since I am relatively new to the mental health profession, I like to be receptive to learning new things and trying different ways to advance my skills in my career. I want to be the best at what I do.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A hike at Ocean Trails Reserve, where there’s a secluded rocky beach that’s perfect for a quiet picnic.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Council; they are a group of three girlfriends who I know individually, but consider “My Council.” They have been with me every step of the way and give me grace, love, and encouragement. Everybody needs a “council.”
