We had the good fortune of connecting with Pandiora Zetetique and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pandiora, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“We accept the reality of the world with which we’re presented. It’s as simple as that” – The Truman Show. The world presented to us is very confusing because it’s full of people and things that aren’t real and are meant to deceive us. But as we get older, the layers of the onion peel away and we start seeing the dream for what it really is. Christof is talking about the real world, not story world. If someone ever does a sequel to the Bible, they might consider including the Book of Truman to clear a few things up.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started out shooting behind the scenes for a bigger budget reboot of a regional TV show called Songwriters Across Texas and have had so many opportunities to edit music videos for local bands since then. I’ve also directed my own videos and am growing a lot as a filmmaker and documentarian. Was it easy? It was a lot of work, 80 hour weeks but it was a blast going to places like Saxon Pub and Threadgills before it closed and getting to meet and work with people like Bob Schneider and Barfield. The biggest challenges have been shooting music videos with social distancing in place and then having to wait on releasing a lot of them while we wait to see what the fate of the show is. I’ve learned to enjoy things while they’re happening and soak as much in as I can because who knows when the show’s going to get put on pause again.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Spider house, Trudys, Madam Mams, then Saxon Pub to see Lonelyland or Love & Chaos, The entire trip would be based around which live music is playing. I’d love to see any of the bands from the show again, so I could see Lavelle at Antones, Jordan Cody at Water Tank, and if Shane Cooley & the Midnight Girls are playing anywhere, I’d be first through the door. Support Texas music!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my team (Ben, Karl, and Karma) at Songwriters Across Texas for keeping the Austin music scene alive in my editing monitor. I’ve discovered a lot of amazing Texas music thanks to working on Songwriters Across Texas: Shane Cooley & The Midnight Girls, Madam Radar, Miss Lavelle White, Jordan Cody, & Billy Harvey. These people wrote the soundtrack to the last year of my life.
