We had the good fortune of connecting with Parisa Moayedi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Parisa, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I have often found there is a thin line between the fear of success and the fear of failure, both of which can keep us trapped in patterns that hinder our growth. When confronted with this challenge, we often gravitate towards what feels most comfortable—and the unknown is usually the most uncomfortable. Yet, it is precisely in that discomfort where the magic happens and where expanded possibilities await.

Deciding whether to keep going or to give up is a profound and often daunting crossroad that everyone encounters at some point. As a mindset coach and somatic healer, this decision transcends mere logic or surface-level analysis; it requires a deep, holistic approach that considers the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. It’s not just about weighing pros and cons but about attuning yourself to the subtle cues your body provides, understanding the narratives driving your thoughts, and aligning with your deeper purpose.

When faced with this decision, it’s essential to pause and reflect, engaging in practices that allow you to reconnect with your core values and true desires. This process involves recognizing whether your current path still resonates with your authentic self or if it has become misaligned, causing undue stress and resistance. By integrating mindset work with somatic awareness, you can discern whether the challenges you face are opportunities for growth or signals that it’s time to let go.

Through this introspective journey, you can find clarity, whether it leads you to persevere with renewed vigor or to release what no longer serves you, creating space for new possibilities. Ultimately, the choice to keep going or to give up is not a binary decision but a nuanced and compassionate process that honors your entire being.

Here’s a holistic approach to guide this decision:

1. Mindset Check-In:

Clarity of Vision: Revisit your original goals. Are they still aligned with your core values and purpose? Sometimes, we lose sight of why we started, and reconnecting with that can reignite motivation.

Self-Talk: Observe your internal dialogue. Are you motivated by fear or genuine passion? Negative self-talk might signal a need for mindset adjustment rather than giving up.

Growth Mindset: Are you facing challenges because they are part of the growth process, or are you encountering insurmountable barriers? If the former, perseverance could lead to valuable learning and growth.

2. Somatic Awareness:

Body Signals: Tune into your body’s responses. Chronic stress, tension, or fatigue can indicate that something is off-balance. If your body feels consistently drained, it might be a sign to reassess your approach.

Intuition: Pay attention to gut feelings or intuitive nudges. Somatic sensations often provide insights that the conscious mind might overlook.

Energy Flow: Notice where your energy naturally flows. If you feel energized and alive when working towards your goal, it may be worth continuing. If your energy feels stuck or depleted, it may be time to let go.

3. Reflective Practice:

Journaling: Write down your thoughts, feelings, and experiences related to the situation. Sometimes, the act of writing can bring clarity and reveal underlying patterns or desires.

Meditation and Breathwork: Engage in practices that help quiet the mind and connect you to your inner wisdom. A few moments of stillness can offer profound guidance.

Visualization: Imagine both scenarios—continuing versus letting go. How does each feel in your body and mind? The response might help guide your decision.

4. External Support:

Mentorship or Coaching: Seek the perspective of someone you trust who can offer an outside view. Sometimes, an objective perspective can shed light on blind spots.

Community Feedback: If the goal impacts others, gather feedback from your community or those you serve. Their input might provide clarity on whether to persist or pivot.

5. Evaluating Results:

Progress Assessment: Take a step back and evaluate your progress. Are you seeing measurable results, or are you stuck in a cycle of frustration? Sometimes, a shift in strategy, rather than giving up, is what’s needed.

Sunk Cost Fallacy: Be mindful of the sunk cost fallacy—continuing something just because you’ve invested time or resources. Assess whether the continued effort aligns with your current goals and values.

6. Compassionate Decision-Making:

Self-Compassion: Approach the decision with kindness towards yourself. Whether you choose to keep going or let go, recognize that either choice is valid and part of your growth journey.

Reframe Failure: If you decide to let go, reframe it not as a failure, but as a conscious choice towards something more aligned with your current path.

Ultimately, the decision to keep going or to give up should come from a place of deep listening to both your mind and body, aligning with your purpose and well-being. It is all connected and a reflection of who you are.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart in my business is my unique ability to deeply relate to and have compassion for almost everyone I encounter. This stems from the vast and diverse background I have, which has allowed me to connect with people from all walks of life. My experiences have shaped me into someone who can truly understand the complexities of others’ journeys, offering a level of empathy and insight that is rare. This connection isn’t just about understanding others but about creating a safe space where people feel seen, heard, and valued. This is something I truly am honored to do.

I am most excited about publishing my book, a project that has been a labor of love and a significant milestone in my journey. It’s not just about sharing my story but about offering something meaningful that can inspire and empower others. This book represents a culmination of my experiences, wisdom, and the lessons I’ve gathered along the way. It’s a testament to the power of persistence, faith, and turning challenges into opportunities for growth.

Getting to where I am today in my business has been a journey paved with God’s guidance, relentless persistence, and numerous failures that have ultimately turned into blessings. Each setback was a stepping stone that brought me closer to where I needed to be. It was far from easy, but it was undoubtedly the most rewarding experience. The challenges I faced taught me invaluable lessons, the most significant of which is the importance of always trusting my intuition and believing that God will guide my way if I continue to follow the path laid out for me. This faith has been my anchor, helping me navigate the uncertainties and stay true to my purpose.

The main lesson I’ve learned along the way is to never give my power away. In the world of business, it’s easy to be swayed by external opinions, pressures, or doubts, but I’ve learned that my power lies in staying true to myself and my vision. This lesson has been crucial in maintaining my integrity and ensuring that my work remains aligned with my values and purpose.

At the core of my business and my legacy is a deep connection to my ancestors. My purpose is not just about building a successful business; it’s about honoring those who came before me and creating a platform where my voice can bring out what they could never fully express. This drives me to ensure that my work is impactful, meaningful, and rooted in a legacy that transcends time. I want the world to know that my brand and story are not just about personal success but about creating something enduring that honors the past, enriches the present, and inspires the future.

I dedicate so much to my ancestors and more importantly, God.

It is with a heart full of gratitude that I acknowledge God’s presence in every aspect of my story.

Faith profoundly impacts the mind, body, and soul connection, creating a harmonious balance that sustains me through life’s highs and lows. On a mental level, my belief in God instills a sense of peace and purpose, allowing me to approach challenges with a calm and focused mind. This mental clarity is not just a product of faith but a reflection of the trust I place in God’s plan, which helps to quiet the noise of doubt and fear.
