We had the good fortune of connecting with Parris Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Parris, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I don’t like working for people, One thing this journey taught me is that nobody’s obligated to believe in you — that belief has to come from you first. I used to think I had to wait for everything to be perfect or for someone to co-sign what I was building. But life doesn’t reward waiting. Even when I had nothing, I moved like I had everything.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is rooted in storytelling — not just through visuals, but through vision. With Crypdawgs, I created something that doesn’t exist: a fusion of surreal pop art, luxury fashion, collectibles, and credit-building. That’s not just a product, that’s a message. I didn’t go to art school. I built this brand through hustle, imagination, and pressure.

What sets me apart is that I’m not chasing trends — I’m building culture. Every Crypdawg tells a story about power, about individuality, and about freedom. What I’m most proud of is the reaction: people instantly get it. It hits different. And that means the world to me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d make sure they got the full LA experience. We’d start with a dinner at Catch LA — the vibe, the energy, the views — it’s a must. From there, we’d hit Soho House for drinks and a more intimate, exclusive scene. One day would definitely be dedicated to Malibu — brunch at Geoffrey’s right on the water, with a scenic drive up PCH. And for a real LA steakhouse experience, Boa on Sunset never misses.

I’d also mix in a few lowkey creative spots, maybe a pop-up art event or gallery in DTLA, and a chill day in Venice or Melrose for shopping and people-watching. The goal? Balance the luxury with the culture. That’s real LA.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely want to give a shoutout to my family, they held it down when things got dark the ones who encouraged me even when they didn’t fully understand what I was building. And honestly, a lot of credit goes to my past self for not giving up when it would’ve been easier to settle. Every couch I slept on, every time I had to start over it all added fuel. I also want to shout out anyone out there chasing something bigger than their circumstances. That mindset alone deserves recognition.
