We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrice Hodge and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Patrice, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?

For me, giving up is something I have no desire to ever do because I know I have a purpose. However, that’s easier said than done sometimes. When you have so many trials and tribulations piled upon you, it could happen to you or a family member, and you carry a burden. Then it becomes a tough trial to handle while following your dreams, and at that point, you might want to give up. But there’s something about believing and trusting, having faith in God if you believe in God, and trusting in yourself. Knowing your why, knowing that you have a purpose because we all have a purpose, no matter what we do in this lifetime, as long as it is fulfilling. As long as you are pouring something good into yourself and into the world. We possess so many powers, so giving up on something that you were assigned to do hurts deep within. So, I have no desire to give up at all. My only desire is to keep following my purpose and utilizing the powers that God has blessed me with.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

**My Art**

I am an actress, model, songwriter, and dancer. I began acting and modeling in high school, participating in high school fashion shows, and later advancing to New York Fashion Week (NYFW) and Los Angeles Fashion Week (LAFW). My journey in singing and songwriting began in church, with songwriting becoming my true passion. Dancing has been a part of my life since childhood—I was practically born dancing.

What sets me apart is my fearless approach to challenges and my clear vision for my career. While I value advice and trust the process, I prefer to make my own decisions rather than accept just anything that comes my way.

‘’Proud of’’

I am most proud of reuniting my younger siblings after 10 years apart, which truly warms my heart despite the unforeseen circumstances. Additionally, I am proud to have landed my first lead role in a feature film, which will premiere this late summer on Tubi and Amazon Prime.

‘’How Did I get to where I am now ?

I put in the work, tirelessly researching and submitting my applications, undeterred by rejections—I simply moved on to the next opportunity. I asked many questions, even though clear answers were often hard to come by. I always knew that if I wanted something, I had to pursue it. The journey wasn’t easy, especially without a team, relying only on my faith in God. I faced many rejections and even turned down a few opportunities because they weren’t right for me. It’s all about understanding the power of patience, having faith, and knowing your worth.

‘’Lessons learned’’

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that not every opportunity is a good one, and waiting patiently for God’s perfect timing is okay. You’re never behind.

‘’ The world should Know’’

I want the world to know that my art and my brand are authentically me. It’s not perfect, but it’s pure and true, reflecting my purpose. My goal and mission are to remind others that they too have a purpose, even when they feel there is nothing left for them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Honestly, I am still getting to know Los Angeles myself, as I am fairly new to California. It’s been three years, but I’m sure that the first thing I will do is take them to the Hollywood Walk of Fame to see the stars.

We’ll also visit Malibu, which is incredibly beautiful and therapeutic. As for restaurants, I don’t have a favorite yet. Being Caribbean, I love a good authentic Jamaican restaurant, but I’m having a hard time finding but I acting stumble across one in Westfield Mall Culver City, When I say the authenticity and the Jamaican food is good, it’s really good.

We’ll definitely go shopping all over Beverly Hills. I can’t name specific places yet since I’m still learning, and I work a lot, so it’s hard for me to just go on adventures. Any friend who visits me and we explore California together will be discovering new places with me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to Sarah-May Levy, the incredible casting director and celebrity booker behind Big Apple Casting. Sarah-May has played a pivotal role in my career, booking me for the majority of the music videos I’ve done. Her belief and trust in my abilities have significantly boosted my resume in less than two years. Without her support, gaining recognition in this industry would have been much more challenging. I am truly thankful for her.

I also want to express my deep gratitude to my earth angel, my uncle. He is a praying warrior who pours so much wisdom into me. He has done more for me than my actual parents, and I am incredibly thankful to have someone I can lean on. I could write a book about all he has done for me, and I am forever grateful for his unwavering support and guidance.
