Meet Patrice Weaver | Screenwriter & Film/TV Script Editor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrice Weaver and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patrice, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
One thing I believe people would remember about me is that no matter what hurdles I came across or how big the storm… I kept going.
My biggest dream has always been for me to become a successful TV writer and Showrunner. I strongly believe that when that happens, my powerful stories will make an impact on individuals that can either relate to or live vicariously through them. Furthermore, I will be encouraging my audience to never give up on their happiness.
That is the legacy I hope to leave behind.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Currently, I am a professional script editor and I have built a great reputation for being very thorough. I started this business after my first job as a Film/TV Development Assistant, where I would read and edit many scripts.
That Development Assistant job helped with perfecting my storytelling skills, and I am truly grateful to have had that experience.
In addition to editing scripts, I recently executive produced a sizzle reel for the TV adaptation of my romance novel, titled LOVELESS.
I also draw, paint, and enjoy creating content on YouTube and Instagram. My brand (Write Me Pink Productions) is all about self-care, and I believe it is so important for everyone to make this a priority. Writing and traveling is a major part of my self-care, and I motivate others to also do what sets their souls on fire.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am the adventurous type. So we would do things like kayaking, parasailing, ATV riding, hiking (to check out the amazing views), and other activities outside of the city.
The only time we would probably be in the city is to have brunch or dinner, or to go out for drinks or go shopping.
I love creating long-lasting memories with my friends, so we would definitely do things big.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my shoutout to Yolanda Buggs. She has always believed in my talent and is always so encouraging. She is an amazing film director and I pray she gets everything that her heart desires.
