We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrick Razo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi patrick, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I would like to think it is bringing a different perspective into each project. My most current project, BHUMEMOTO, a motorcycle brand encompassing building custom motorcycles, hosting meets, accessories, clothing to name a few. Our most current redesign / build is a 1965 honda supercub. The most common comment the we get is “What is it?, I’ve never seen anything like it!”

Ive spent many years in the fashion industry and in the film and game industry as a concept artist designing motorcycles and vehicles. I learned fundamentals in these industries, when i enter a new industry I can easily identify where and how to break the rules to create something unique and fresh.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
there are many outlets for my work, as I mentioned previously I am working on the bhumemoto brand. this requires many hats..

-designing and building the bikes
-fashion, designing and building prototypes
-marketing (photoshoots, commercials which requires writing and directing, both live action and cg)
-entering shows….

there is a lot involved in creating something like this. I don’t think it falls under “having an art”, like being a painter, or a gardener, there are a ton of hats that need to be worn, and we need to be creative in all these areas!
in addition to the Bhumemoto brand, I have been developing an animation project. It is a dark comedy series. 4-7 min episodes. A very smartly written punch to the gut!

with all of these projects one of my goals is whether your looking at the bikes, the fashion, or listening to the music or sound design. It needs to all have the same DNA. It all has to feel like it belongs to the same world, a world that we all wish we had visually. Right now everything is sort of a parody or novelty. We need to have depth and feel like its been around, because it has in some way, design talk, more on this later….
stay tuned as we are continuing to develop new and different projects!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
“Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc”

We would probably be working on a project. we wouldn’t be going an a date, that’d be a short trip!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My buddy Mo Kim. I’ve known Mo for the better part of 17 years. https://www.visualpops.com/about
We’ve been working on projects together for a long time, film, photography. He is a big part of the Bhumemoto team, he makes us look good!
