Meet Pebbles&tamtam | Artist Duo

We had the good fortune of connecting with Pebbles&tamtam and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pebbles&TamTam, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
Pebbles: I think something that used to be true, but isn’t necessarily true anymore because of the age of the Internet that we live in, is the saying, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.”
This definitely used to be true but now everybody has the opportunity to get any information that they’re interested in from the Internet, work on their craft on their own, and then share it with the entire world via the Internet. This way, an artist can garner a massive amount of support without knowing anybody in the music industry.
TamTam: On the other hand, like business wise, I will say connections in person do matter a lot more on that end because like ain’t no songwriters get no gigs from LinkedIn. It’s just not happening. There was a time where you were cooked if you didn’t have a label.
Pebbles: But now, you can introduce yourself to your audience without any team, then a label can help you grow that momentum. And often times it works better that way, because it’s not just execs selling people something nobody wants.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We’re seriously unserious. we go about things our way. No one knows what’s happening not even us. And that’s cool! It’s okay to be the joke when ur the one writing it.
I think that one of the main reasons why things worked for us so quickly was because we never thought that they would. Because of that, we just did whatever the hell we wanted to. Things tend not work with music when the expectation is too high. Carelessness can be refreshing.
We are super proud of ourselves for being able to get to this point as artists. Even though we aim for that carefree sound, it didn’t come without lots of late nights writing, recording, and producing in our studio apartment in Boston worrying if we were gunna wake up the baby in the apartment below.
But the work didn’t feel like work because we’d rather make music than do anything else with our time.
People assume we have known each other forever but it’s quite the opposite.
We met about two months before our “PINK LIKE SUKI” song came out through an iconic professor at Berklee College of Music named John Debo!
He said “you two have GOTTA make something together.”
We don’t know how he knew but he did.
We immediately clicked personally and creatively, and spent every single day together writing, watching YouTube, recording, scheming, making TikToks, and cackling.
Boston & Pat also believed in us from day 1, and used their experience in the music industry to help us along the way.
They saw that we had something special happening before we even did. And they helped us see it too.
We are just getting started.
We want people to know that we are rooting for them, and we hope they can feel it in our music.
We all started out as babies who didn’t know squat and now you know how to use a ruler and make a dentist appointment.
If our current selves are just the infant versions of our future selves, then we can’t even comprehend the ways we will grow.
So pull ur panties up and step to it <3

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To be completely honest, we are suuuuch home bodies. We are lucky to have a studio and pool at our place, so we can go days without ever leaving the house. Also, we just moved to LA a month ago so we are the friend visiting. So far we have enjoyed Tenants of the Trees, Thai on Ventura in Encino, The Council Thrift shop on Fairfax, Vintage Treasures & Repairs on South Fairfax, and Ubatuba acai îs a must.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We want to shoutout Boston & Pat yurrrrrrrrr… for guiding us through every moment as new artists. We are mega lucky to have two people who always have our back as managers, creative partners, and friends. It’s Unbelievable *Boston accent*
