Hi Pei, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“The very cave you are afraid to enter turns out to be the source of what you are looking for,” a quote by Joseph Campbell, holds profound meaning for me. It was as if a serendipitous moment had orchestrated the reading of these words, ringing a resounding alarm in my ears. This quote serves as a powerful reminder that our greatest opportunities and transformative experiences often lie hidden in the places we fear the most. Just like a cave, initially shrouded in darkness and uncertainty, our deepest desires, growth, and fulfillment can be found within the challenges and uncertainties we tend to avoid. It’s a call to embrace our fears, venture into the unknown, and discover the treasures that await us in the depths of our own apprehensions. Joseph Campbell’s words continue to inspire me to confront my fears head-on, knowing that they may very well lead me to the treasures I seek in life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In the past, my fascination with landscape painting has been a companion over many years. During that time, I consistently felt that landscape art brought me a sense of tranquility, peace, and mystique. Subsequently, in the past two years while pursuing my graduate degree, I gradually discovered my unique artistic voice within the realm of landscape painting. This journey has not been an easy one; it can be likened to entering a labyrinth, where finding the way out requires time and perseverance. Eventually, during these two years of my graduate studies, I finally uncovered the path to the exit. This achievement is one that I take great pride in.

Becoming an artist is a path that is far from being smooth sailing. Artists are akin to intrepid explorers, constantly venturing into the unknown, challenging their creative boundaries, and seeking unique modes of expression. On this path filled with challenges and uncertainties, overcoming obstacles is an indispensable part. I have learned to accept failures and difficulties as opportunities for growth. When facing creative hurdles, I persevere, continually experimenting with new techniques, seeking inspiration, and engaging in dialogue with fellow artists to receive advice and feedback. Additionally, I place great emphasis on self-reflection, constantly improving my skills, and cultivating patience and resilience.

One of the most vital lessons I’ve learned is the importance of adaptability. Adaptation and flexibility are key factors in achieving success in both life and one’s career. Life is full of changes and uncertainties. Sometimes, our plans may encounter unexpected challenges, requiring us to swiftly adapt to new circumstances. This necessitates our ability to be flexible, adjusting our goals and strategies to navigate through the ever-changing environment. It is this ability that empowers us to overcome difficulties and persist in the face of setbacks. In the professional sphere, adaptability is equally paramount. Those who can adapt and innovate often emerge as standouts. Learning to be flexible makes us more competitive and better equipped to face new challenges and opportunities.

I want to emphasize that family relationships and family trauma are universal phenomena transcending different generations, and they have profound impacts on each and every one of us. Family is one of the most integral aspects of our lives, serving as the arena where we undergo emotional and psychological transformations.

First and foremost, family relationships are of paramount importance for everyone. They shape our values, belief systems, and patterns of interpersonal relationships. We learn from our families how to love and be loved, how to communicate, and how to resolve conflicts. These relationships significantly influence our personalities and worldviews.

However, challenges and traumas can also exist within families. Many individuals experience emotional wounds, separations, feelings of loss, and other difficulties within the family unit. These experiences may continue to affect them into adulthood. Furthermore, these family traumas can be passed down to the next generation, impacting their lives and relationships.

I hope the world can gain a deeper understanding of the significance of family relationships and the complexity of addressing family trauma. This is vital for helping individuals improve their family bonds, heal from trauma, and break the cycle of intergenerational pain. I believe that through open dialogue, mental health support, and education, we can enhance family relationships and mitigate the effects of family trauma, enabling each generation to lead healthier and happier lives. This is the message I and my brand story aim to convey to the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In my perspective, some of the most enjoyable, fascinating, and thrilling experiences involve delving into the world of art. My friends and I share a profound passion for the arts, and as a result, we frequently explore museums and galleries as our preferred destinations.

Art, in its many forms, has an extraordinary ability to inspire, captivate, and spark our imaginations. It takes us on a journey through diverse cultures, histories, and emotions. Museums and galleries serve as gateways to this world of creativity, where we can witness the artistic expressions of both renowned masters and emerging talents.

Within the hallowed halls of museums, we encounter centuries-old masterpieces that have shaped human history, and we are exposed to contemporary works that challenge our perceptions and invite us to think critically. The interplay of colors, textures, and forms in each artwork provides a unique experience, triggering emotions, sparking conversations, and even changing our perspectives on life.

Exploring art in different places, whether it’s a renowned museum in a major city or a hidden gem in a quaint town, allows us to discover the distinct artistic voices of various regions and cultures. It broadens our horizons, fosters creativity, and cultivates a deeper appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us.

In essence, for me and my friends, the most fun, interesting, and exciting places to visit are the museums and galleries where art comes to life. These are the spaces where our shared passion is nurtured, and where we continue to be enchanted by the infinite possibilities that the world of art offers.

When it comes to someone who holds exceptional significance and importance in my life, I must mention my mentor. He has been the guiding light throughout my journey of growth and learning. His support, guidance, and inspiration have paved the way for my success.

My mentor is more than just an educator; he is a role model, a sage. His experiences and knowledge have consistently been the lighthouse for my learning and personal development, providing me with invaluable insights and direction. Moreover, my mentor has not only imparted knowledge but has also instilled in me essential wisdom about life, careers, and interpersonal relationships.

In times of challenges and hurdles, my mentor has stood by me, offering unwavering support and encouragement. He believed in my potential, pushing me to forge ahead regardless of the obstacles. His trust and motivation have sparked my confidence and resilience, enabling me to overcome difficulties and continue progressing.
