We had the good fortune of connecting with Pennie Promise and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pennie, what do you attribute your success to?
The important factor is believing in myself when no else did/does.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always had a love of the arts ever since I was 10 years old. I moved to Los Angeles when I was 45.  When I am not on set working on Tv or a Film project, I am on stage doing stand Up comedy.  At this late stage in my life, I’m 56 and doing stand up, people ask why. My why is Laughter heals and I needed a lot of healing.  From depression to PTSD.  I want to leave this world laughing.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take me friend to Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier. My favorite places for eating is at Grand Central Market dtla or Farmers Market at the Grove. I like to check out the museum. Friday night Jazz at LACMA, rtc

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to all the movies and TV shows, actors, and comdians I’ve watched over the years. It solidified for me what I wanted to do.
