We had the good fortune of connecting with Perry Aston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Perry, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
From a young age, I had the opportunity to work with some incredible brands and learn directly from high-level mentors who helped shape the way I approach business and leadership. Over the course of a decade, I managed teams, developed marketing strategies, and saw firsthand the impact that strong branding and digital presence could have on a company’s success. But as much as I loved the work, I knew there was a limit to the impact I could make while working for someone else.

Starting my own business was about breaking past that limit. I wanted to create something bigger—something that allowed me to apply everything I had learned while helping businesses grow in a meaningful way. When COVID-19 hit, it was a turning point. Businesses needed marketing more than ever just to survive, and I saw an opportunity to step in as a trusted partner who understood the challenges of the times. That’s when CrowdBoost Marketing was born. What started as a necessity for many businesses turned into a movement—helping brands not just stay afloat, but thrive in an increasingly digital world. And that’s exactly why we continue to do what we do today.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At CrowdBoost Marketing, we’ve always believed in a simple but powerful philosophy: people first, business second. That means complete authenticity and truly connecting with every client we work with. We don’t just market for them—we see their vision through their eyes, making sure their brand is represented in a way that feels true to them and resonates with their audience. Marketing isn’t just about strategy; it’s about storytelling, and that starts with understanding people. What really sets us apart is the team we’ve built. We’re a group of passionate individuals who don’t take the responsibility of marketing lightly. Every brand we work with has its own story, its own challenges, and its own goals. It’s our job to not just meet expectations but exceed them—to elevate brands in ways they didn’t even think possible.

As for my own journey, I’d be lying if I said it was easy. I’ve lived a great life, but I’ll be the first to admit that a lot of my downfalls were self-inflicted. I’ve made mistakes, taken risks that didn’t always pan out, and faced moments where I had to rebuild. But every failure was a lesson that shaped me into the leader I am today. You don’t know the true meaning of success without failure. The challenges, the setbacks, the moments of doubt—they’re all part of the process. What matters is how you push through them and come out stronger on the other side. At the end of the day, I want the world to know that CrowdBoost is more than just a marketing agency. We’re partners, storytellers, and strategists who truly care about the brands we work with. Our success is measured by our clients’ success, and that’s what drives us every single day

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being born and raised in Southern California, I’ve had the chance to live in a lot of different cities—from Koreatown to Moorpark and plenty of stops in between. But for the past five years, I’ve lived and built my business in Burbank, and I’m proud to call it home. If a friend were visiting for a week, the first thing I’d tell them is fly into Burbank Airport instead of LAX—it makes life so much easier. After picking them up, we’d head straight across the street to the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport for a drink and appetizers at their beautiful outdoor restaurant, Eat Drink Be (EDB).

Throughout the week, we’d hit Santa Monica Beach for some classic SoCal sun and waves, and as a massive sports fan, I’d make sure we catch a Dodgers or Lakers game—there’s nothing like the energy of LA sports. One of the newest and most exciting things I’ve been doing a lot lately is the virtual reality experience at COSM in Inglewood, where they show immersive sports games, art experiences, and more—it’s a must-see. And of course, come hungry, because we’d be eating a lot! LA’s food scene is unbeatable, from incredible taco spots to high-end steakhouses. Whether it’s casual bites or fine dining, I’d make sure every meal was a memorable one.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If there’s one person who deserves a huge shoutout in my journey, it’s my father and now business partner, Julian Aston. About two years ago, my company, CrowdBoost Marketing, merged with his agency, Intouch Business. At the time, we had different focuses and client bases, but we saw an incredible opportunity to bring our strengths together. Merging our two teams wasn’t just about combining resources—it was about uniting decades of experience with fresh, forward-thinking strategies. Fast forward to today, we’re better than ever. Beyond being an exceptional marketer, Julian has been an invaluable mentor to me—not just as a business leader, but as a father. His many years of experience, guidance, and support have played a huge role in shaping the way I approach leadership and growth.
