We had the good fortune of connecting with Phillip ‘Phenom’ Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Phillip ‘Phenom’, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Scheduling my everyday life, planning, and time management have been habits that I’ve built over the years that have helped me succeed. Time management as been an essential habit for my success because it keeps me focused with using my time effectively to achieve my goals.

When it comes to scheduling I create daily and weekly plans that outlines what tasks I need to accomplish and by when. For me, scheduling ensures that I stay on track and complete important tasks on time. This also helps me stay organized and reduce the risk of forgetting important deadlines or appointments.

Lastly, the planning I do involves setting goals and creating a roadmap for how I will achieve them. By breaking down my goals into smaller, more manageable tasks, I can create a plan of action that will help me achieve them more efficiently.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career is so diverse, it started with me working in television production for over a decade, dating back to when I was 14 years old. I believe that I needed this start in television production because it has ultimately turned me into a professional storyteller. Over the last few years I have; written two books, hosted two podcasts, given to TEDx Talks, and spoken at more than 30 schools, and now I’m stepping into professional speaking.

What sets me apart from others is my ability to adapt to any situation. I have the ability to take the skills and experience from my past and apply it to anything I’m doing at the moment to make matters work. what I’m most proud of is having the ability to not only Inspire others to become a better version of themselves but to be able to actually help them step into the next phase of their life. it would never get old is getting messages and emails from people telling me how much I help them be able to accomplish their goals. that is what I’m most proud.

The two things that have truly gotten me to where I am today are time management and networking. With all the different projects that I continuously going through my head, I have to be able to manage my time to ensure that everything gets accomplished. My network has always believed in me and pushed me to continue to grow as well as connect me with the right people to make sure that everything gets accomplished.

This journey has been far from easy, it still isn’t easy right now. As I continue to grow and mature, I understand that there will always be challenges and problems that a person will encounter during their journey. But, what separates people that are average from people that are continuously successful is the ability to be a problem-solver. Your ability to solve problems will always determine how successful you will become.

The main concept that I want everyone to know and understand about my brand is that it ultimately is saying to be just 1% better than you were yesterday. We get caught up in trying to accomplish everything in a day, a week, or even a month. However, sometimes that just isn’t realistic depending on what your goal is. If you focus on just being a tad bit better than you were yesterday that compound effect will eventually add up to get you to where you want to be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh man, I am the wrong person to ask this question to haha. I don’t enjoy going out much, I’d would rather go to a lowkey food spot that’s open late like Cosmic Cantina and talk for hours. During the day we can get a workout in and hit up the skating rink. Before all of that we can get some work done and help each other brainstorm. I know this isn’t an exciting answer but I’m just laid back like that when it comes to my city. There’s plenty to do but I like to save adventures for when I travel outside the state or the country.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The amount of people and resources that have helped me get me where I am is endless. Of course my family and close friends have always been the support that I need whenever times are difficult. I am continuously reading books and listening to podcast from the most successful marketers or self-development coaches. I could go on forever but ultimately I want to say thank you for anyone that has ever believed in me because you are the reason why I continue to push limits.
