Meet Polina Bogomolova | Tour & Artist Manager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Polina Bogomolova and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Polina, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Even though I am still far from the level where I aspire to be at, I believe that the reason my career develops so quickly, consistently and well is the most basic thing you can ever hear – hard work, strong discipline and dreaming big.
I’ll never forget the wise words I’ve been told by Lady Gaga when I met her back in 2012 – apart from a motivational speech she gave me which included a mention of believing in yourself, she couldn’t stress enough how crucial it is to have a very, very strong discipline. This part screamed to me the most because at the time I had issues with it. I always knew how to dream, keep believing in myself and stay inspired, always knew that if I touch something I won’t stop until I make it perfect – but the discipline was one thing which wasn’t my friend at all.
After hearing those words from one of the most successful women on the planet, something immediately clicked in me and I started being consistent with my goals, as if I put myself on autopilot with no questions asked. I’m staying on that autopilot till this day.
In addition to that, what I do for a living is my passion therefore it never feels like I have an actual job. That’s one of the reasons that make my work more successful. This is the reason why I invest much more time in it than basic 9 to 5. I’m inspired by all the possibilities and potential opportunities for my projects and what I can CREATE. And I am not afraid to dream and propose that looks like the craziest or dumbest ideas ever to the team I work with.
But my success also couldn’t be achieved without the people around me. The more you grow, the more experience you get working in the industry, the more you understand that team work makes the dream work. People around you are crucial for your journey – they can help and boost you in your career growth or slow you down.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
To come to the point where I am today was not easy and required a lot of flexibility, open-minded thinking and believing in the potential successful outcome… which was also not very easy sometimes. But hope is everything and it dies last as they say, so I just kept manifesting and take any opportunity I was offered.
Looking back I am proud of where I got to in just two years – currently, I manage three professional touring artists (J. Worra, MISS DRE and Cherry Tooth) on daily basis, in addition to becoming a full time tour manager for one of them. To see the exponential growth every year in the scope of work and skills I gain makes me motivated and want to see how much more I can achieve in the future.
The main lesson learned is to take a full advantage of vacations and have days without opening your emails. A year ago I thought that nothing can stop me and I don’t need breaks, this year… after summer of touring all over the country to major festivals like Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Life is Beautiful and etc and all the sleepless nights that coming with managing three DJs, I couldn’t wait to have at least a week to myself. I had to learn the hard way that all the talk we hear about selfcare and avoiding to burning yourself out is for a reason.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh, I have so many places to show to my fam once they are here in LA!
Malibu, Yosemite and pretty much all other natural parks in California are #1 in my list.
For foods in LA – Kura Sushi Bar, Colapasta, Food trucks, Bacari W. 3rd, Yamashiro, Khinkali house, Sunright Tea
For drinks – Adults Only, Lock & Key, No Vacancy, Desert 5 Spot
I am yet to check out Slow Jamz Studio but would bring my fam with me for sure. That’s all I can think of at the top of my head!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am a very lucky person because I can say that I have many people who genuinely are my supporters. My friends and family always made sure to show that they are with me and are excited about my dreams and ideas. So my main shoutout goes to people, my support system – to those who always tried to cheer me up, who listened, who was happy for me and celebrated my small or big achievements. I have so many names to mention – from friends & fam in my hometown, friends & family I made in America (that includes the artists I work with and my colleagues because we are much closer than just work partners), to ppl who I’ve never been close friends with or never even seen in real life but who are always in my DM when there is a reason to congratulate me. They know their names – I shoutout them all.
Obviously, as a person working in music, another shoutout goes to the artists that helped me realize what I want to do in this life – My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds To Mars, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky, Lana Del Rey, Lady Gaga… and MANY more!
Last but not least, shoutout to the book that is giving me a new point of view and wave of inspiration lately – “Creative Act: A Way Of Being” by the legendary Rick Rubin.
There is so many moments from my life that deserve a shoutout tho… it is impossible to remember all the times when a small conversation, a song heard at a bar, or a movie watched at a theater inspired me and reminded to keep doing my thing. Honestly, so much to be thankful for.
