We had the good fortune of connecting with Priscila Quezada and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Priscila, is there something you believe many others might not?
A piece of conventional advice that I disagree with within the nail industry is the thought that as nail techs we need to offer every service within our line of business, and never turn away clients.

What should our readers know about your business?
I own Nailme&Co, a beauty studio in the heart of Fresno, California that focuses in women empowerment and inclusivity. I am also a travel nail professional offering on-set work in Los Angeles area as well as backstage during New York Fashion Week. Pre-pandemic I had a small private studio where I welcomed clients, but I knew there was more I wanted to do with my career. Then, due to the shelter-in-place mandates, I made the decision to temporarily close and pivot to formulating my own cuticle oil blends and launch my online store. In January of 2022, I opened the new studio, but now much larger, and built a team. While you can still shop our cuticle oils online at nailmeandco.com, the Fresno studio is home to our team of licensed beauty professionals who offer various extraordinary services. The studio makes me very excited because we run by appointment only. This allows my team and me to fully devote our attention to each client, and provide them with a relaxing atmosphere, and safe space for them to disconnect, enjoy, and not feel rushed. We make sure to harvest a relationship with our clients, and this is what sets us apart from your typical walk-in salon.

Besides Nailme&Co I also own West Coast Nail Gang. This is the sister company where I highlight my own nail artistry and newly launched professional nail product line. This industry has taught me so many lessons and have also been blessed to meet and work with remarkably talented nail professionals along the way who keep inspiring me to push through and go for more. Something I have learned not only in this industry but throughout life is that a “No” can sometimes be the “Yes” you need to hear. This was my case at the beginning of 2023 when I reached out to two professional brands I use in hopes they would consider taking me on as a brand ambassador. Fortunately for me, they said NO. I say fortunately because it was the two “Nos” that redirected me to take the leap and launch my own line of professional nail products. After months of research and endless testing, I landed on the manufacturer that worked for me. I was extremely happy to have been able to officially launch September 15 in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Whether you are a nail professional wanting to use my products, a nail enthusiast who understands the importance of using cuticle oil, or a local who wants to try a different type of beauty studio, we are so excited to connect with you. And watch our LA, Nailme&Co will be coming home with me to the 818 soon!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting me, our first stop would be breakfast at Heavenly Pancakes in San Fernando. This has been a staple for me growing up! I would definitely plan for us to go out to the Hollywood Walk of Fame for an afternoon walk, then head over to Grand Central Market for a late lunch/early dinner then pick up a Rice & Beans frappe from Tierra Mia Coffee. Grand Central Market has some of the best foods available, and the choices are endless. The Observatory was one of my favorite places to visit growing up, so that would be a place I would take my bestie to. On days that we would keep it local, I would take her to Horchateria Rio Luna for a pastry and a Horchata Frappe. If my best friend were to visit during soccer season, you would definitely catch us at a few LAFC games. The San Fernando Valley and LA has so many hidden gems!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my parents, who brought me to this country in search of that American Dream, and to all of the ‘no’s’ I’ve heard along the way. They’ve propelled me to keep pushing through.
