We had the good fortune of connecting with Priya Donatelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Priya, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
A question I often get asked is how much education is required to become an acupuncturist. People are often surprised when I say that it’s a 4 year process to obtain a masters degree in Chinese medicine. However, the degree and licensing is just the “formal” education-the medicine itself is so vast that it is truly a lifetime of education and enrichment.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Come June of 2024, I will have been in practice for 14 years. I am so fortunate to truly love what I do and feel divinely aligned with it. I have never wanted to do another career in my lifetime since starting this one!

Formally studying Acupuncture and Herbal medicine was a wonderful foundation for the other branches of my practice-Feng Shui, Dietary Therapy.
Having been in practice for 14 years I am now able to intuit what a patient might need and create a treatment plan using a blend of my services.

I am humbled by the power of Chinese Medicine every day and my aim is to restore the health of humankind in a dignified and incredibly effective way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So much to see and do in LA. Would start with taking a beautiful hike at Malibu Creek State Park or a nice walk at Surf Rider beach in Malibu.

Love Japanese food so a trip Little Tokyo Downtown or Sawtelle Japantown would definitely be in order!

Some great places I’ve discovered since moving back to LA from NY are: Cornell Winery for a late afternoon sunset hang out and Goldline in Highland Park for a late evening lounge vibe.

This is just to name a few!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am certain I have made it this far because of how incredible my community is. The colleagues, friends, and mentors and teachers I have had over the years have made my career pleasurable and do-able. You all know who you are 🙂
