Meet Priyanka Annuncia

We had the good fortune of connecting with Priyanka Annuncia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Priyanka, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My idea emerged from a desire to address a persistent issue I observed. After spending over 8 years in the fitness industry, I repeatedly saw my clients struggle to find affordable, high-quality activewear that was both flattering and available in their size. Six years ago, the market was lacking in inclusive options, with many major brands being more exclusive than inclusive. This left a lot of people without suitable choices.
The turning point came when my best friend, who is on the plus side, tried on a sports bra designed specifically for her. Her reaction was a lightbulb moment for me—she said, “Wow, Pri, I can finally start working out and taking care of myself.” It was eye-opening to realize that sometimes all someone needs is a reason and a little push. This motivated me to keep going.
From that moment, I knew I wanted to take a body-positive approach. I wasn’t just interested in selling clothes; I wanted to sell an experience.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is an online clothing brand that offers a wide range of products, including activewear, basics, intimates, loungewear, and swimwear, all available in a variety of sizes. What truly sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to body inclusivity. We focus on meeting the diverse needs of our customers, ensuring that everyone feels seen, valued, and confident in their own skin.
I’m incredibly proud of the fact that our customers consistently return to us and love our products. This loyalty reflects the connection we’ve built with our community, as well as the quality and care we put into everything we create.
Getting to where we are today has been far from easy. I started this brand when I was just 21, armed with a vision but no roadmap. I had to learn as I went, speaking with others, making mistakes, and figuring things out on the fly. One of the biggest challenges I faced was navigating my vision for the brand. It’s one thing to have an idea, but I quickly realized the importance of having a growth plan to sustain and expand it.
Another challenge was maintaining motivation and discipline. No one really talks about how entrepreneurs work around the clock and the toll it can take. There were moments when I felt completely unmotivated, especially when it seemed like there was no hope for the brand. I remember the early days when I had no sales for three months despite all my marketing efforts. This was back in 2019, before inclusive brands had gained mainstream traction, and breaking into the Singapore market was particularly tough. But I had to constantly remind myself that this brand is more than just products—it’s a message. The motivation behind starting it kept me going.
Along the way, I’ve learned the importance of resilience, adaptability, and staying true to your vision, even when the journey gets tough. I want the world to know that my brand is not just about fashion; it’s about empowerment, inclusivity, and creating a space where everyone can feel good about themselves.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Singapore for a week, I’d take them on a journey through the city’s vibrant culture, iconic sights, and culinary delights. We’d start with a visit to Marina Bay Sands for the stunning skyline views and a stroll along the promenade. Over the week, we’d explore the cultural richness of Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Glam, savoring local favorites like chicken rice and laksa at hawker centers. I’d also take them to Sentosa Island for some beach time and adventure, and we’d end the trip with a peaceful day at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, soaking in the lush greenery. Along the way, we’d discover hidden gems, local cafes, and enjoy the city’s nightlife in Clarke Quay.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely, I owe a lot to my close group of friends who have always believed in me. I’m also deeply grateful to the Miss Universe Singapore Organization and Pink Tank Events for recognizing my potential and providing me with a platform to amplify a meaningful message. A special thanks goes to the International Justice Mission for the incredible work they’re doing in fighting modern-day slavery. Their efforts have empowered me to be a voice in advocating against this heinous crime, and I’m honored to be involved in the life-changing work they do. Above all, I thank God for His grace and the wonderful plans He has for me, guiding me every step of the way.
