Meet Queen Amina | Abstract Artist.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Queen Amina and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Queen Amina, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose to pursue an artistic career because of the ways we are able to connect with others. I find it beautiful how a connection can be made simply through the work of someone else, through the mind of someone else, without one word needing to be said, or a direct reasoning needing to be addressed. We all gravitate towards something that we create a relation to, things that feel familiar to us, or things that introduce us to the unknown.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
More than anything, what excites me most about the career that I am building for myself, is the curiosity of where this journey will take me. Growing up, I have always had an interest in art, but never in a million years would I have believed that this will be a true passion of mine, the fact that I was so blinded in the past only opens up the question of what I am currently being blinded from now. and what will soon become a discovery for me, that alone is the most exciting thing about this. There are, and forever will be challenges that need to be overcame, but the most important one for me would have to be the act of overthinking, which has taught me that it can take one down into a spiral of constant comparison to others or seeking temporary validation. My story serves as an elevation, an evolvement of my own confidence within myself that is speaking through my work.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my Shoutout to my mother, and a book called ‘The War of Art’ by Steven Pressfield.
