Meet RACHEL KIRYLO | Content creator & Small business owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with RACHEL KIRYLO and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi RACHEL, how does your business help the community?
Hearing protection is so important, especially as raves and music festivals continue to grow in popularity. Yet, the importance of protecting your hearing is often overlooked. My business bridges the gap between safety and style by offering earplug earrings that are both fashionable and functional—making it easier for ravers and music lovers to prioritize their hearing without sacrificing their style.
I often receive positive feedback from customers who tell me they used to forget their earplugs at home or lose them during events. The convenience of having them attached as earrings is unmatched. That’s why I offer a wide variety of designs—to suit different outfits, personal styles, and occasions.
What excites me even more is seeing these earrings used beyond the rave scene. One customer shared that she bought a pair for her daughter, who gets overstimulated in noisy public places like airports. The earplug earrings offered a discreet, easy solution that helped her feel more comfortable in public. Most people don’t even notice the earplugs at first—which makes them even more versatile.
Through this product, I’m helping promote long-term hearing health and sensory support in a stylish, accessible way—one pair of earrings at a time.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What’s unique about my business model is that I am integrating vertically. I am also a content creator in the rave scene. And as I build my base of followers on Instagram and Tiktok, I drop pieces of content promoting by earring business with it. I am trying to be the influencer to the product, but also the source of the product. It’s a LOT of work. Being the model AND the photographer. Being the brand AND the influencer. But the more I do it, the easier it gets. It’s also something I love to do and have always been passionate about. So that work/play balance has been really fulfilling to me in this journey.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this question. Long Beach is such an underrated city, and only those who live here actually know how dope it is. The food scene here is actually unreal. The mix of cultures makes the best fusion scene. We’ll definitely hit Sushi Nikkei for some Japanese Peruvian sushi. And Ammatoli for the most elevated and high quality Mediterranean you’ve ever had. And don’t forget Heritage, which is Long Beach’s first Michelin awarded restaurant, just a 10 minute walk from my place! There are also some really incredible places to eat along the water. The view from Fuego at the Maya makes me feel like I’m in Miami.
If I had friends in town, I would take them on a Duffy ride in Alamitos bay. Probably bring a glass of wine to enjoy on board. Relax and enjoy the view of the beautiful homes in Naples Canal. Then dock at the Boathouse on the Bay where we’ll go for dinner. Simply the best patio views of the bay, watch the sailboats go by and soak in another breathtaking sunset. You really find it hard to believe you’re in Long Beach. The food is pricey but well worth it. It’s the best restaurant in Long Beach in my opinion.
I’m really tuned into the local music scene here too. Long Beach is host to really big music festivals like Day Trip, Coastal Country Jam, and now Warp Tour. But there is a huge underground scene as well. We’ll probably go to a house show hosted by Secret Service LBC, or a beach bash with DJ Swanya and her crew.
The beach life here is also my favorite. I love to rollerskate along the boardwalk, or play volleyball at Mother’s Beach on Sunday’s. The Aquarium is also a must visit if you’re from out of town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A big shoutout to my rave Mom, Rachel. She was the original source of inspiration. She always wears the coolest earrings. And she always wore ear plugs when we went to raves together. I made these earrings as a birthday gift for her, and everyone who saw them loved the final product and encouraged me to make more and sell them to the community. Here we are two years later with custom packaging and 20 different designs.
