We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel London and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Total Package Club is a dating mastery consulting company focused on transforming the way we date and relate. We live in an age where people are seemingly disposable due to the paradox of choice and with that often comes an apathetic approach to the way we engage with and invest in others. Beyond that, we carry past or present hurt into new relationships, therefore continuing to perpetuate the exact cycles we’re trying to escape. Instead of holding ourselves and each other to a higher standard, it becomes all too easy to withdraw and move on to the next best thing. This can lead to avoidant tendencies, emotional burnout and a loss of hope that someday it will be our turn to experience the kind of love we long for and know deep down is possible.
Experiencing what it is to love and be loved by cultivating intimately connected, nourishing romantic relationships, is one of the biggest gifts we can give and receive as sentient beings. Love is arguably the reason we’re here in the first place and is the most enigmatic, profound, captivating and inspiring part of being human.
After countless hours of market research, thousands of surveys and hundreds of interviews with men and women, I realized 99% of singles report wanting the same core things, yet encounter major disconnects when it comes to actually getting them. They expressed frustration with the inability to meet a well matched partner or build a relationship that has staying power, so it became clear that while most people are well intentioned, they often present in a way that’s out of alignment with how they’re perceived. To substantiate this, 75% of men and women described themselves as open books, but feel misunderstood and/or under-appreciated despite their openness.
Life moves at such a rapid pace that it’s easy to lose sight of what’s most important when we’re busy being busy. These days there’s so much social engineering at play vying for our attention, subsequently creating more distraction and fragmentation, so we have to be increasingly mindful and intentional. While incredibly advanced in some capacities, somewhere along the way, we seem to have lost track of an almost primal understanding of who we are, what we genuinely want and how to navigate interpersonal relationships, be they brief or enduring. When we allow ourselves to be present and tune into our deepest desires, it can be painful to feel as though something as important as love is perpetually elusive and out of reach. We witness others as they find partnership, while wondering if or when it will ever be our turn, or for those who’ve been through a messy divorce or breakup, if they’ll forgive themselves for “failing” and still be able to find happiness, excitement and connection with someone new. This can create an overwhelming, albeit often well hidden, amount of suffering, and that’s what I’m committed to alleviating for as many people as possible by changing the rules of the game and how we play it.
We’ve all heard, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” and this ain’t that! The majority of singles believe the entire dating stratosphere is broken and spinning out of control. We’ve commodified people and become passive as a product of losing touch. The truth is we are worthy and deserving of love but struggle to be objective or see our own blind spots. It’s socially acceptable to have support in all other areas of life by hiring physical trainers, business mentors, doctors, therapists, nutritionists, etc, but when it comes to the most complex and important thing in the universe, love, it feels like we’re on an island. The TPC results driven coaching programs help singles uplevel and reconnect with the best parts of themselves and others to become and attract their own version of the total package partner.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The ability to grow and evolve paves the way for reinvention.
The past year felt like much of the planet went into an unfamiliar and uncomfortable cocoon and because of it, we are now emerging as different versions of ourselves. For me, this has looked like shifting focus from my work as an artist and musician to letting the insatiably curious entrepreneur in me run free by creating an entirely new company and developing/testing proprietary programs and methodologies that help relationship minded singles rewrite their love story and finally get what they want.
While this is some of the most fascinating and rewarding work I’ve done and I’m incredibly excited for what’s to come, the biggest limitation I’ve had to work through is self imposed. After investing years into building a successful personal brand as a number one charting singer/songwriter and top emerging artist named by Saatchi, I was concerned what others would think. In order to combat this, I made peace with my inner knowing that I am an artist at my core no matter what, which does not preclude me from nurturing additional talents and passions. Whether it’s painting, writing music or creating a company, especially one that helps people with one of the most important areas in life, these are all authentic expressions.
What most people don’t know about me, is that I’ve had my hand in the personal development space for a decade, even guest coaching 10 time NY Times Best Seller, Neil Strauss’ men’s program and have worked in branding and public relations at the highest levels. Plus, I’ve been in love with love and fascinated by the dynamics between men and women for as long as I can remember. I’ve definitely put in the 10,000 hours!
Over the past several months I’ve worked with a select group of men to develop a customizable, results driven process that compliments what I’ve learned throughout the course of my own journey. If I figured out the intricacies of how to massively uplevel my own dating game, and let me tell you, it was not easy, getting to share what I’ve learned to save others’ precious time, energy and money while shifting the dating paradigm, is an incredibly worthwhile endeavor.
We learn, we share, we evolve.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I think of luxury, I think of simplistic quality. Experiences that have a sense of connecting us to something real that makes us feel without trying. The beaches in Malibu are special in that way – I love hiking the cliffs of Point Dume before sunset, then sitting on the beach as the sun melts over the horizon. Great place to see dolphins too.
Also love Geoffrey’s, Moonshadows, Little Beach House & Lake Shrine in the Malibu area.
Favorite vegan restaurants: Little Pine, Plant Food + Wine, Sage, Gracias Madre, Cafe Gratitude, Moon Juice, Juicy Ladies (and the spicy vegan ramen from Jinya + the entire vegan menu for rooftop dining at the Waldorf in Beverly Hills).
Brunch & poolside lounging at the Four Seasons or Beverly Hills Hotel.
Walking the canals in Venice and Marina Del Rey. RaMa for kundalini yoga. Sunset from the top of Hotel Erwin at High Lounge.
In a pre-covid world, I liked popping into Black Rabbit Rose for their secret backroom shows.
Fast Toys Club for exotic car racing.
If headed to OC, highly recommend staying at Pelican Hill.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Friends and mentors who have been brave enough to pave the way and remind me what’s possible. It takes a village!
