Meet Rebekah | Facial Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebekah and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebekah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My skincare journey began in middle school.
I had never learned anything formally, but I hated how my face felt when it burned under the sun. So with my own pocket money, I bought a sunscreen that cost about 3,000 won (around $2) and started applying it before going out for P.E. class. I didn’t even fully understand how it worked , I just knew I needed it.
As I got older and entered high school, I started paying more attention to my appearance. By 19, I had saved up enough to start getting skincare treatments. I didn’t know exactly what they were doing or what kind of treatments I was getting, but deep down I knew one thing: if I invested in my skin now, it would show ten, twenty years later.
And I was right. Skincare is a long game. When done consistently, it makes a real, visible difference and keeps your skin healthy over time.
In my late 20s and early 30s, I started thinking seriously about my future. Up until then, every job I had was just to make ends meet —,none of them brought me joy. One day I thought, what if I could actually make a living doing something I love?
That’s when it all came together. I realized that skincare wasn’t just a hobby — it was a lifelong passion. And that passion is what eventually led me to open my own studio.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe that my work is about touching people’s hearts.
When I sincerely listen to my clients, comfort them, and treat them with the hope that they leave not only with healthier skin but also a lighter heart, I truly believe that energy is felt. That is the most important part of my work.
Most of my clients have been with me for a long time. Their lives are all different, but to me, they feel like family.
Some clients travel an hour or two just to see me — some from San Diego — and I even have a client who lives on the East Coast but visits me every time she’s in California. I’m always deeply grateful for their trust and effort.
To be honest, there have been times when I lost my sense of humility and got caught up in pride. But I always remind myself that each client is placing their valuable time, money, and skin in my hands — and that trust is never something I take for granted.
I’ve also experienced what it’s like to try a new skincare service and walk away disappointed when I couldn’t feel the provider’s sincerity or effort. Those moments taught me the kind of experience I never want my clients to have. Every session is a promise: to show up with genuine care and presence, and to ensure my clients never feel like they’re just another appointment.
I’ve trained with many seasoned estheticians, and I continue to travel for business and education every year to keep learning and growing. Everyone’s skin is different, so I believe skincare is something you can never stop studying. I never settle — I’m always striving to evolve and become a better esthetician

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Brea is full of hidden gems — from amazing food spots to Brea Mall, where you can easily lose track of time exploring.
You can also stop by Whole Foods Market for some organic snacks, fresh flowers, or just a relaxing moment in a calm, feel-good space.
Another underrated spot is the Redwood Grove in Carbon Canyon Regional Park — a peaceful trail lined with towering redwoods that most people in Orange County don’t even know exists. It’s a beautiful place to reconnect with nature and take a breath of fresh air.
Just a short 20-minute drive away, The Source mall in Buena Park is the perfect place to immerse yourself in delicious K-food, K-beauty, and Korean culture.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband is my best friend and the energy that keeps me going.
He makes me laugh when life gets tough, celebrates my wins, and holds me when I’m down. He’s believed in me from the very beginning—even before I believed in myself. His quiet strength and constant support gave me the courage to chase my dreams and build my business. I’m endlessly grateful to walk this journey with him.
I also want to thank my mother, father, and sister for always encouraging me and cheering me on.
And to my in-laws—thank you for sending your love and support all the way from Korea. Your belief in me means the world.
