Meet RERUN | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with RERUN and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi RERUN, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
you dont. Just keep grinding til the wheels fall off. I’ve been in so many shity situation in my life were i felt like just giving up or my art isn’t good enough. but shit happens, Its just another obstacle to over come. If its something that you love doing and you eat, sleep, and deam about DONT STOP.
FUCK what people say or think about you or your passion, If your thinking about giving up your not pushing hard enough. just make sure u have a roof over your head in the progress. Think out side the box.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I don’t know how I got here professionally to be honest. It kinda happened just naturally. I started doing graffiti and that opened doors to galleries some how. Which is crazy because I’ve never done done a painting before. But motivated me to try something different, Plus it kept my mom from tripping on me for painting in the streets. This fine art journey wasn’t easy for me. I was 18 lost my mom, trying to finish high school, no money for food, bouncing around couches and drinking every night, I just wanted to give up. But painting was the only thing that kept me sane. I learned a lot from this though it make my art richer and raw. A lot of my old work was a lot of random B.S. that didn’t mean anything. the work I’m doing now really illustrate my past and emotion that everyone can relate too. Painting now in my opinion I feel like it’s more technique than emotion. I just want to bring that back on what is the painting telling you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
