We had the good fortune of connecting with Ricardo Vargas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ricardo, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
ACTING. That’s what makes me happy. Since I was a kid, acting has always been my passion but it was until I moved to LA recently that I start working as an actor and being on sets, learn lines, improve my craft, work with my scene partner and everything that involves acting makes me so happy.
Also, it makes me happy thinking that I could inspire others through my acting or that I could make the audience feel something through my performance.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well first of all I am a lawyer or I was a lawyer back in México. I moved to LA to pursue my acting career and so far it has been an amazing journey.
I have had the pleasure to work in different productions for HBO, Netflix, Hulu, Showtime, Apple Tv, etc.
My most recent project and my first leading on a TV Show was for CNBC “Blood & Money” where I get to play Erik Menendez.
Being an actor is not easy and mostly because 70% of people in Los Angeles are pursuing the same dream as yours, so you have to work really hard to get or achieve what you want. Also, you have to be prepared for when that opportunity comes, and with this I mean that you have to have training, technique, experience on your craft and knowledge on how this industry works.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a hard question since LA has A LOT of places to visit.
But let’s say it’s not their first time visiting and we can skip the regular tourist places such as Griffith, Walk of Fame, etc.
I will take them for breakfast to Tartine. Then we’ll grab lunch at Salty Girl and after lunch, we can head to the beach, specifically Point Dume in Malibu and lastly for dinner and drinks, I’ll take them to Laurel Hardware. Food, drinks and music there are top notch.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My dad, mom and sister.
They’ve been always super supportive towards me and have encourage me to always keep dreaming and fighting for what I want to get or achieve. They been there for me in the good days but also in the bad days.
I am so thankful to God for my family.
