Hi Riccarda, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success as an actress is undoubtedly passion. I believe that passion fuels dedication, hard work, and continuous improvement. It drives me to immerse myself in every character I portray, constantly exploring their emotions and motivations. Additionally, passion helps me stay resilient in the face of challenges, allowing me to embrace rejection and learn from it. Combined with discipline and a love for storytelling, my passion for acting has been the driving force behind my achievements in this industry.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art as an actress is fueled by a deep passion for storytelling and a commitment to creating meaningful representation for the LGBTQ+ community. What sets me apart from others is my dedication to authenticity and my refusal to conform to the stereotypes often associated with the industry.

The journey to where I am today professionally has not been easy. I have faced numerous rejections and heard countless ‘no’s, which led me to doubt whether the life of an actress was meant for me. However, I refuse to give up on my dream, firmly believing that there is a place for each one of us in this industry.

I’ve always been a proponent of collaboration rather than competition. I reject the idea of being driven by jealousy or envy. Instead, I focus on supporting and lifting others, as I believe that a rising tide lifts all boats.

Along the way, I’ve learned valuable lessons in resilience and perseverance. Every setback and challenge has been an opportunity for growth and learning. I’ve discovered the strength to push forward even in the face of adversity, never losing sight of my passion and purpose.

While I have achieved some significant milestones, like receiving the Best Actress of the Year Award for my role as Sister Christa in ‘Cord of Three’ at the Indie Short Fest 2023, I acknowledge that my journey is still ongoing. There is so much more I want to achieve, and I’m excited about the future possibilities.

My goal is to contribute to a world where diversity and representation are celebrated and embraced.

Ultimately, I strive to inspire others to stay true to themselves, to follow their dreams relentlessly, and to believe that with passion and perseverance, anything is possible. I hope my story serves as a reminder that even in the face of doubt and challenges, there is a place for each of us to make a difference in this world through our art and the stories we tell.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Imagine a fantastic week in Lisbon, Portugal, my absolute favorite city! We’d wander through Alfama’s historic streets and get lost in Sintra’s enchanting wonders. Furthermore, we’d head to Cascais, a coastal gem, for sunbathing, refreshing swims, and even a surfing lesson! I’ll proudly show off my three-second surf stance while we cheer each other on. After our beach time, we’d indulge in fresh seafood by the shore.
We’d venture to LX Factory, a creative hub, where trendy shops, art galleries, and rooftop bars promise an unforgettable night out.
And just before saying farewell, we’d enjoy a leisurely brunch at a charming café, savoring the flavors of Portugal one last time. Before heading to the airport, we’d visit the Belém district, admiring the iconic Belém Tower and indulging in the famous pastries at Pastéis de Belém.
And you know what? If my acting journey ever takes a different turn, I can always put my charisma to good use as a Lisbon tourist guide. Who wouldn’t want an entertaining guide with a flair for drama?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely! I would like to dedicate my shoutout to several incredible individuals and inspirations who have played a significant role in my journey as an actress. There are so many amazing stories and people that have shaped and influenced my path, and I’ll mention just a few.

First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you goes to my acting coach, Nurije Jendroßek. As a Chubbuck trainer, she has been an invaluable mentor, guiding me every step of the way. Not only is she an exceptional coach, but she has also been a constant source of support and encouragement on a personal level.

I must also give credit to my agent, Cem Aydin from Urban Actors Management. His belief in me and his expert guidance on the business side of acting have been instrumental in shaping my career.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of my mom. Her love and encouragement have been the bedrock of my pursuit of this dream profession.

Moreover, I’d like to acknowledge brave and groundbreaking stories like ‘The L Word’ that have inspired me to stay true to my path. The series has been a powerful force in motivating me to use my storytelling to advocate for the representation of the LGBTQ+ community.

Beyond these specific mentions, there are countless others – mentors, fellow actors, friends, and family – who have played pivotal roles in my success. Each one has contributed in their unique way, and I’m truly grateful for all the love, support, and wisdom they have shared with me.

In summary, I owe a great deal of my success to these wonderful people and impactful stories that have shaped and motivated me throughout my journey. However, I want to emphasize that there are so many more individuals and inspiring tales that have made an indelible mark on my life. I’m humbled and deeply thankful for all the support and encouragement I’ve received on this beautiful and transformative journey.
