Meet Richard Sandoval | Community Intervention Worker and Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Richard Sandoval and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Richard, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I did not inherit this land from my parents, I borrowed it from my children,
How I return it will be the measure of the person that I was.
This is based on a Native American proverb. This has helped me to change my paradigm on how I look at life. As I learn to look forward and work towards production and success, I am inspired to model wellness and hope. This has helped me to let go of a resigned existence and any feeling of entitlement. I feel motivated by the hope that I inspire in my clients, and I am rewarded with the fact that this will benefit the future generation.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a resilient product of my environment, bad decisions, and God’s intent. I have become a credible messenger by surviving all of the bad decisions of my past and finding meaning and purpose for it all. I am most proud of the fact that I have found peace in myself and direction in life. I have finally gotten to this place by letting go and letting God. I am not of any formal religious discipline, but I turned my will and life over to the care of God as I understand God, and this really has made a difference in who I am. I would love the world to know, especially those who allow their doubts or insecurities to dictate their potential, that it is as simple as stopping and just believing in yourself that determines who you become. Energy should be spent on worthy motivation. Then it is energy well invested. Regardless of the outcome, a journey with heart and substance is a worthy journey. The most priceless and precious blessing that God gives to this world is you, from that truth, from that paradigm healing and wellness abound.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to people watch and appreciate the outdoors so I will name my favorite 3 here in Los Angeles, that would be: Griffith Park Observatory, Santa Monica Pier, and Hollywood Blvd. They are abundant with interesting and exotic places and people, there is no 1 scene so you can blend in with the rest and just find fascination in all of the variety and difference that surrounds you. Griffith Park Observatory offers the scenic and natural hike up that top off with a world class tourist attraction, Santa Monica Pier is surrounded by a beautiful beach and also provides a world class tourist attraction, and Hollywood Boulevard is just a must see in Los Angeles. Santa Monica Pier has a burger stand that is delicious, Hollywood Boulevard is loaded with food spots, and I highly recommend packing a lunch for the Griffith Park Observatory hike.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this to my mentor, boss, friend, and sister Tina Padilla. She has been instrumental in my development and ability to impact our community and to nurture and coach our youth.
