We had the good fortune of connecting with Rocky Vuong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rocky, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk has been the secret ingredient that has helped me to build Calibre Cleaning. When I was 22, I was working in a call center, with no future plans for what I was going to do next. I was anxious, one day I remember seeing a Reddit post on how to start a cleaning company. Deciding to take the chance and switch careers was the best thing that happened to me. Risk-taking has played an important role in my life, whether it is investing in new machinery, diversifying our services, or even hiring staff, those were all the risks that paid off. Not all the risks I took, turned out to be a win but the lessons I learned from them helped me to become what I am today.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Calibre Cleaning started due to a simple but powerful belief that we could provide customized and detail-oriented cleaning services. The way we provide our cleaning services is what sets us apart. We are always focused on developing genuine and long-lasting relationships with our clients, meeting their unique requirements, and making sure that we fulfil those expectations. We provide attention to detail as well as commitment, consumer satisfaction is what separates us from our competitors. Starting my journey with a Reddit post proved to be challenging, for days I doubted my abilities and wondered if I had made the right decision. With every positive feedback, my confidence developed. Each challenge like managing the expansion, fulfilling the quality of our services, and staying in the competitive industry taught me valuable things about resiliency, quality, and the significance of a good team.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would like them to go on a walk around the Sydney Opera House and the Royal Botanic Garden. We can also grab some of the best seafood at the Sydney Fish Market. We can have dinner in Barangaroo at a rooftop bar. On the weekend we can also go to check out the local nightlife in Surry Hills. We can also go to the Blue Mountains for fresh scenic views, waterfalls as well as best hikes. The Wentworth Falls along with The three sisters are must-see. We can also play football with Aussie rules.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to the Reddit community, especially to the author of the post “How to start a cleaning business in 30 days”. The post proved to be the blueprint of Calibre Cleaning. It’s great to see how someone’s knowledge and experience completely transform the course of another person’s life. I would like to shout out to my first clients, they trusted me and provided me with a brand-new chance to prove myself. My team also deserves a shout-out. My journey wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for my dedicated team members. I would also like to thank my family, it was their support and understanding that made me take the risk and start Calibre Cleaning.
