Meet Ro’sean Langhum | Artist | Music Producer | Composer | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ro’sean Langhum and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ro’sean, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Tenacity. Tenacity. TENACITY! I’ve learned that life is about creating good habits that come from good choices daily. Everything takes time and practice. If you have the desire to complete the work you’ll for sure reap the reward of doing so.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As I reflect on this I began to understand that self reliance is a virtue that needs to be developed within the creative. To hear so many “no’s” along the way for sure takes its toll. As a person, creative and artist you’ve gotta learn how to look at the information and details of a situation for your trajectory is connected to it.
Being from the south allows me a unique approach to my art. I think southerners are allowed to be rough around the edges more so than others lol. My story is one of a boy growing up without a father figure and being raised by women in a very low income area of Houston. I learned so much by watching other men that I deemed as “good” do life and make decisions. It was an early template of life for me. From those experiences, I was able to overcome and benefit from the use of my imagination of what life could and should look like for a man like me.
I’ve learned that I am a relentless conqueror who is well equipped to do the hard things in life. Reflection. Direction. Tenacity. Prayer. That’s all I need.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ha! I’m not sure I’m the best candidate to give knowledge about this subject matter but on my list that doesn’t exist I must say that I take pleasure in finding new places to dine. I absolutely love The Farmer’s Market at the Grove, all of Culver City, Pasadena and the beautiful Santa Monica area. Some of the best food I’ve ever had exists there for sure.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely have to shout out my parents. My supreme unwavering fans of my work and dreams. I’d also like to recognize my pastor and spiritual father Alvin L. Proctor for his mentorship and guidance. I’m really not sure where I would be right now without these people in my life!
