We had the good fortune of connecting with Rue Golan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rue, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Many people believe that the music industry is all fun and games, but it’s not always like that.
In reality there are highs where you might feel on top of the world, followed by tough times the next day. To succeed, you must possess patience, unwavering passion, and inner strength. It’s about staying dedicated and resilient, no matter the obstacles that may arise.
It’s an incredibly competitive field.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey in the entertainment industry began after moving to the US about eight years ago, where I navigated both language and cultural differences since English is not my native language.
Three years ago, I took my first steps into the professional music industry, and it’s been an exhilarating ride ever since. I went to study Music Business at UCLA, It not only deepened my understanding of the industry but also significantly enhanced my networking skills. This education provided me with the tools to navigate and thrive in a field that demands both creativity and business savvy.
I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with incredibly talented artists and individuals whom I’ve long admired. As a crucial team member for Ally Brooke, former Fifth Harmony member, Noa Kirel, the biggest Israeli pop star, and SZNS, a pop girl group sensation, I played a pivotal role in managing their events and shows, gaining invaluable experience in artist management and development.
What people may not understand is that there are so many different layers and aspects to explore as a professional in the industry. You can be a manager, a tour manager, an artist, an accountant, a business manager, a creative director, A&R, and the list goes on. I strive to gain knowledge in each profession and do my best to excel in them.
For example, lately I’ve had the opportunity to work on the A&R side as well, bringing songs to my artists’ tables and connecting them with other artists for song collaborations as well as working closely with multiple A-list artists on music video productions.
Best part about all of this is that along the way you get to form meaningful friendships and find mentors who will guide and inspire you, travel to new places and be a part of something that feels bigger than you.
However, The music industry is fiercely competitive, and overcoming obstacles has required perseverance and a steadfast love for what I do.
Looking ahead, I’m filled with excitement for the future. There’s still so much more I want to achieve and experience in this dynamic industry. My journey so far has taught me invaluable lessons in resilience, determination, and the power of passion.
I’m eager to continue growing, learning, and contributing to the music world. My story is one of pursuing dreams with unwavering dedication, and I can’t wait to see where the next chapters will take me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely love coffee shops, I live in West Hollywood and I like exploring new coffee shops every week.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
