We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Garry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursue a career in art because I want to spend my life doing things I actually love to do. I do have a degree in computer engineering, and my plan is to use what I’m good at to fund what I’m actually passionate about. Things are going well so far, but it takes time and patience. I have no doubt in my mind that my plan will become a reality soon.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey as an artist has been a very collaborative and enlightening experience. I genuinely take pride in my people skills, and I believe it shows across every medium I work within. Whether it’s smiles in a photo or comfort in recording sessions, the results feel more organic because I enjoy the process of getting to know the muse and collaborator(s).

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My idea of a good time would be going to one of my favorite restaurants called Green Ghost Tacos. They have great food and drinks, so that’ll get the afternoon started. That’ll probably lead to some thrift store hopping and cruising around the city. The possibilities are endless.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shout out my mom and dad. They are both the starting point and inspiration of my visual and music career. My parents are both vocalists that met in college, and growing up, they made sure my ear was tuned to appreciate good music. Along with that, they made sure I was involved in my church choir, which helped hone my vocal talents. When it comes to my visual passion, my dad taught me graphic design and photography basics throughout high school.
