We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan’Ashley Hawkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ryan’Ashley, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My thoughts about risk taking is that it can either a blessing or a curse. What I mean by that is with risk you never know the outcome it can be a blessing simply because taking that risk or leap of faith can be the step towards greatness if done with pure intentions. I also say it can be curse as well because some risks aren’t meant to take and if you take that risk it can also lead to failure if you don’t have the right mindset or plan behind that risk you are taking.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
So I have a cosmetic line named R&R Cosmetique, which is gradually growing and what I am most proud and excited about. Quick little background behind the name, R&R stand for Ryan and Royce which is myself and my sons name and COSMETIQUE is two words combined Cosmetic and Boutique. I go where I am currently by just not giving simply pushing myself to not give up regardless of how things at that moment are going. Has it been easy? Not at all but I try to keep a positive mind set and remember why I started my business from the start. One lesson I’ve learned when it comes to entrepreneurship is that there will be dry spells, there will be times when you just want to say forget it I’m done, there’s going to be times when things are simply booming and regardless of the moment and time keep going, keep striving, keep grinding because it’s going to pay off. Small achievements prepare you for big momentum’s to come. I tell myself Keep your head held high, chin up, and chest out you got this and God got you. What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that you will see us everywhere one day and to be on the look out for R&R COSMETIQUE and I say that in the most humbling way possible.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Where I live there isn’t much to do due to the corona pandemic but for a good time I would take her to different cities and places I enjoy. I would take her to the beach, or the skating rink for adult skating, go to my favorite Museums the museum of tolerance in Beverly Hills or the Getty museum. Food wise I would say I’m not sure but most likely somewhere both haven’t eaten so we can experience it together.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I personally want to make a shoutout to my son and people who believe in me most when I lack the confidence to believe in myself.
