We had the good fortune of connecting with Sally Hayes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sally, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
This is actually my second company, which spawned from my first. I am the owner of Women In Self Healing, a prenatal massage therapy company, and our clients continually trusted us for referrals for lactation consultants, midwives, chiropractors, etc that specialize in pregnancy. I started looking around for professionals working in this space and started a meetup group around 2019. The pandemic took its toll on us meeting in person and once we were cleared to meet up again, this group grew like a wildfire. It was very clear to me that I was not the only one seeking to serve our clients with referrals. We grew so fast that we had to formalize into a membership based business and Woman Wellbeing Collaborative was born!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I think the reason we have been so successful is because there was a genuine need for collaboration and connection within the maternal health space. Many practitioners work solo and yearned for community. As the saying goes “it takes a village…” and we are creating that village for anyone traversing the fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum path. Everyone is so passionate about serving this community in the most well rounded way possible and at any of our events you can overhear people discussing how to work together to serve individual clients and the community at large. Our company has birthed many side collabs with brands working in this space as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This city has such beauty and diversity. We would start at The Broad downtown for a little art tour then head over to Grand Central Market for lunch. Taking a ride on the Angel’s Flight is an iconic way to see downtown also. I would want to do a hike at Griffith Park then dinner at the best Italian restaurant in town, Il Capriccio.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Everyone in our group deserves a shoutout, because we really are co-creating this business as we grow. Wendy Obstler, our membership coordinator, has been instrumental in our growth. She built our beautiful website, vets and onboards all the members and brand partners, and does so much behind the scenes work to ensure everthing runs smoothly.
