Meet Samantha Dowell | Cosmetologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Dowell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The way that I came up with my business name Element_Stylez LLC because I have no preference when it comes to hair. There are multiple elements and avenues you can take with hair. You can be the hairstylist or business owner it’s not one set lane I am versatile so I made sure my business will represent that as well. I work with all backgrounds, cultures, hair textures and more. I feel as though we all want to be clean cut and look presentable and feel beautiful inside and out. Being a hairstylist within my business I love to help others and make them feel beautiful. When my clients come into the salon I provide them with great services and hair care. Being that you never know how someone’s day is currently going and I love great energy so if I can be a helping hand to make someone’s day I’m always down for the cause. Element_Stylez LLC defines creativity, humbleness, outspoken, and authenticity.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
All I can say is that once you put your mind to something as far  as a goal or dream, never give up and never forget your why. I’m still a learning process but I feel you have to start somewhere and you learn things along the way and you can also invest in knowledge on your own time. Element_Stylez LLC is the definition of you can do whatever you put your mind to as long as you see the vision and know that you will get to the end of the tunnel.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If me and my best friend were to take a week long trip I would go out of the country to Italy. I’ve never been yet but I would want to do the canopy ride take a tour of course. Eat at a good restaurant. Sunbathe. Party. Shopping. Blog. I feel the people there would love us because we are a vibe. I would definitely want to see rome and Florence. I would definitely want a bomb portrait an important piece to hang in my apartment on my wall for inspiration. I just feel the air is different lol and the food is better. That’s just my opinion.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my family my parents are originally from Belize Hopkins and Dangriga. My family’s name is Zuniga. I want to show them that it’s possible to follow your dreams. Also to keep living life and just doing you. Thank you to my grandma Emma for keeping the bloodline strong and healthy and being a strong black queen. Thank you Rafaela my queen and Samuel Sr my role dawg for being here in this present moment. Thank you to my adopted parents Moma and Popa for everything I can’t thank you enough. And also my step mother Dez. Thank you to my sister Zenanie and my siblings Arnichaw,  Sameenah, Alice and Shema, and Samara and Nicey. And Sam Jr and my Big Bro Anthony. My son David Gaga and my sister Samara. Also thank you to my best friends Monae and Kaylah my best cousins torrie ,Tera ,and Ashton , Pam, and Evan. My favorite auntie Amenica. And most of all my son David for making me into a women and changing my life for the better and also big thanks to Gaga and Nana and Uncle Reggie.
