We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Samantha was on hiatus (unemployed) from her casting job, as the show she was working on got canceled. One night she wanted dessert (to eat her feelings of being unemployed), but she didn’t have anything in the house! So, she got creative and came up with her own toffee recipe on the spot. She had butter and sugar, which she knew made toffee, and mixed in anything else she could find, like chocolate and potato chips. She made a huge batch and told her twin sister, Chelsea, to take it to work with her the next day. Chelsea came running home and excitedly told Sam that everyone at work wants to buy her toffee! So, the next morning, Samantha got to work to re-create the yummy dessert she made. That night, she then had a dream about the name and The Toffee Twins was born!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Samantha works in television and Chelsea works in education. Both are very creative in their own separate ways. Samantha bakes ALL the toffee and Chelsea ties the bows! We have build this company from the ground up with just the two of us doing EVERYTHING. We are amazed at the out poor of love and the celebrity cliental we have received. We make custom one of a kind toffee that will blow your mind. It’s not like English toffee. It doesn’t get stuck in your teeth. It’s more of a toffee cookie bar. Our hit flavors are Milk Chocolate Potato Chip Toffee, Oreo Toffee and Pretzel Coconut Toffee. Our toffee is homemade in small batches, made to order. The most important thing to know about The Toffee Twins is that we have fun every step of the way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first things first, we must take anyone visiting LA directly to Malibu for a fun beach day. Even if its cloudy out we will make the drive to Malibu Seafood Fresh Fish Market & Patio Cafe right off of PCH. Their food is amazing and worth the traffic to get there. After grabbing some lunch we would then head over to Malibu Wines to drink and play some fun games with friends till it’s time to go home. We are huge brunch lovers and our “go to” restaurants would be The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker for their all day brunch, Blu Jam Cafe for their insane french toast or République for EVERYTHING. We’re both obsessed with sushi and would eat it everyday if we could! A no brainer for us would be KazuNori: The Original Hand Roll Bar on Wilshire. Even if you are in town for a few hours, we will drive you ourselves to eat these hand rolls!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would love to dedicate our hard work and success to the extremely strong and independent women in our family. We have the most amazing role models to look up to. Our mother (MAAA) and our grandmother (G-MAAA) have shown us how to be successful in our everyday lives.
