Meet Samuel Alexander | Wedding Singer and Guitarist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samuel Alexander and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samuel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Ive been performing at weddings since 2012 and I had never sought to establish a brand specifically for that service. As a freelance musician, my work involves lots of spinning plates and pulls me in myriad directions often. After assessing the kind of work that I most valued and spoke to my strengths and ideals, I landed on the wedding business as my next venture, and I’m so excited about it!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business’ story is just beginning to be written. I launched the brand in October 2024 with my last wedding of the year.
What I offer is a unique exception to a traditional musician in a wedding environment . I bring an entirely wireless system with me which allows me to walk around the party freely as I perform for the guests.
The level of interaction that this allows completely elevates the moment as I am strolling between cocktail tables and serenading friends and family members personally, all while providing the soundtrack for everyone in attendance.
There were a lot of challenges at the beginning, just as in any business. There is a good deal of soul searching that is required to land on an idea that you have serious conviction to pursue through thick and thin. The wedding industry, just like all others, has its quirks and specificities that can only be learned from experience. This new system I am integrating came with a steep learning curve of technical information, which itself was a challenge. I am a Youtube University subscriber so I often source information online to troubleshoot and problem-solve. But when I inevitably run into a road block that stumps me I will usually call up some friends who have a background in that kind of thing and get their advice.
So far I’ve learned that there is true power in community as well as authenticity. Without the other wedding industry professionals that help and support each other, this would be a harder space to be in. The community in the wedding industry is uniquely warm and inviting, which helps everyone achieve their best.
The response to the business so far has been incredible and I attribute that to the fact that I am bringing my genuine self to the table as a performer and entertainer. I think that authenticity grants you freedom which ultimately leads to elevated levels of work and ultimately, more demand.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Anyone visiting me in L.A. would get a trip to Downtown for tacos at Sanoratown, After that it would be on to the Westside where we could walk the beach from Venice to Santa Monica. And finally I’d make our way to Highland Park to catch a show at the Lodge Room

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My journey has been replete with supporters and mentors that have helped me accomplish what I have built so far. I will forever be grateful to my parents who gave me the opportunity to pursue this dream. Their encouragement and guidance were there from the beginning and it has never faltered.
I also have a deep appreciation for my friend Juan “Juanzo” Bennett who was my musical companion and mentor when I was first picking up the guitar. He was a drummer and die-hard music aficionado who had many years of experience and exposure on me, but he was unendingly generous with his knowledge and patience.
Lastly I have to shout out Moses Lin for the amazing work that he is doing to create an entirely fresh experience for wedding couples and guests. He was my primary inspiration to begin this venture, and I am constantly in awe of and inspired by, his skill, work ethic, vision, and demeanor.
