We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandra Granados and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We wanted to introduce to the market a jewelry line catered to everybody, showcasing sustainably cultivated pearls and bringing elegance into the image of any person who wants to wear them. Redefining gender norms and creating something that sees no barriers. That’s the key to the success of our brand and a core value for me as an artist and a brand.

It’s very important to us to highlight the work of Colombian artisans and take it to the world stage. We have a zero-plastic policy, eco-friendly packaging and are constantly striving for better ways to deliver our product in an earth conscious way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Design has always been my passion and working with people locally in Colombia has allowed me to create something powerful not only for myself but for my team, and my community.

Starting as a woman in the industry makes you have to work twice as hard to get credit for your work and I’m fully committed to changing that. My goal is to inspire other creatives letting them know that any goal they have in life, any passion, with discipline you can make it happen.

The most important thing is to believe in yourself, it’s what has allowed me to accomplish everything goal I have set for myself.

As a Latina, to have influential people in Hollywood wear your designs is a big win. We have successfully sold out our previous collections and have shown them in New York Fashion Week, the sky is the limit and we are just getting started.

Through my son David Granados and his artistry and network, we have also been able to open a lot of doors and take Mansion De Perle to a much larger audience. Having people like J Balvin, Shawn Mendes, Billy Porter, and Gaby Spanic wear our designs is very exciting and makes me want to push for more.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you’re ever in Bogota which is where the magic happens, I highly recommend the Gold Museum, where you can see how jewelry and design have been crafted for centuries in our culture and it’s part of the inspiration for what we do in Mansion De Perle.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Taking your business off the ground requires discipline, hard work, and creativity. Resilience is one of the most important components of the recipe and when you work really hard, you start making waves and people start to pay attention and subsequently join your movement. I’d love to thank Dixie D’Amelio for giving us our first big social media feature, Enrique Sapene and Canela TV for the placement in television, and especially José Forteza for our first feature on Vogue Magazine.

Through my spirituality with my faith completely put in God, I have been able to receive so many blessings.
