We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandra Ruiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandra, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Continuous learning has truly been a foundation of my success. I’m always eager to explore new knowledge and skills through classes, workshops, and other avenues that nurture my personal and professional growth.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The disciplines of acting and dancing have offered profound personal growth, transforming space for introspection and a deeper understanding of self-identity. Exploring these realms has led to significant discoveries and given me invaluable tools applicable to everyday life—a flexible mental resilience essential for navigating challenges. Dance, in particular, has been indispensable; my enduring fascination with movement languages has enhanced my comprehension of the nervous system, bodily sensations, and self-exploration.
My aspiration is to permeate my narrative and creative endeavors with a sense of well-being, inviting others to explore life through discoveries and whole-heartedness.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting LA, I’d start by showing them around my neighborhood. We’d grab a bite at Clark Diner, then take a stroll up the Hollywood hills to the reservoir for the stunning views. After that, it’s a scenic drive along Mulholland Drive, before hitting Malibu Beach for some ocean fun then live music or a bite at The Aviator Nation Dreamland. Dinner? Barro Santos, of course—my top spot! Another favorite spot is The Huntington Gardens, browsing bookstores in Pasadena, vintage shopping, and capping it off with a good dance theatre play, museums or take them to a Ground Grooves Class on the weekend.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am deeply thankful for the incredible women who have reached out their hands to support and uplift my craft. Through Wildflowers Agency and with the inspiring Jess Humphrey, an incredible dance maker and my wholehearted friend, these women have woven a tapestry of strength and creativity. Their combined wisdom, passion, and friendship have not only shaped my career but also nurtured a deep bond and a shared journey in expressing profound human experiences.
