Meet Sara Siegel | Actress | Fashion Stylist | Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Siegel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sara, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
For me, there has been no other way. I have tried multiple times throughout my fashion career to jump back on the corporate train – Mainly for security purposes with health insurance and a steady paycheck, however something would always happen where I would get pushed back off. I’ve learned my soul doesn’t expand in a environment like that and that’s okay it’s against social norms. My soul wants to feel free with a schedule that isn’t repetitive. Where I get to engage and co-create with different individuals on a daily basis. My body likes to stand up and move around. I’ve expanded my resources and learned there are other ways to get health insurance and that the more you believe in yourself, as well as your talent, the money flows naturally. There’s always a way when you’re following your heart.
Today, as an Actress, I also work as a Fashion Stylist in Beverly Hills, and I Model. Fashion has always flowed through me naturally, where acting is a day one dream. That’s the beauty about choosing a creative career – There’s always more to explore!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My move to California is one of my favorite accomplishments. I grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan and although it was a beautiful place to grow up, I never felt like I fit in. I was managing a retail store and would go on buying trips with the owner. It was there where I would see the wholesale girls working and learned that this was my next step in my career – I wanted to work in fashion wholesale. So, I saved up $10k and moved to Los Angeles three months later. I didn’t have a job lined up, however I was following this deep intuitive feeling that the job would come as soon as I am there. There are three tall wholesale buildings that sit downtown on the corner of Los Angeles/9th. I printed off my resume and started at the top floor of each building. On foot, I went into the showrooms I felt intuitively called into. It felt like going on a blind date. Not truly knowing what each showroom had to offer, however I knew what I had to offer. I understood and believed in my talent. I would tell myself, “All you need is 7 seconds of insane courage.” It was those 7 seconds that would get me through the door. Then would ride the elevator down to the next floor, collecting business cards and shaking hands. Then I found myself in front of a showroom called August. I remember walking towards the showroom and turning around because I got nervous. As I walked away, I remembered 7 seconds – Plus my birthday is in August 🙂 I knew I needed just that one employer to take a chance on me. Boom – Three days later I was hired! This is where I learned the lesson that everything you want is on the other side of fear.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love getting outdoors and moving my body! Topanga State Park is a gorgeous, yet challenging hike that I feel everyone should experience. Connecting with nature always feels so rejuvenating!
From there, we will head North to Los Olivos Winery in Santa Ynez Valley. This cute place is a hidden treasure – Plus my family owns a winery in Michigan, so I love a good wine tasting!
Next day we will hit the beaches in Santa Barbara. I’m a beach girl at heart, so spending time by the water always makes me feel at home. For lunch we will enjoy some crab sandwiches on the pier!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, I’d like to give a shoutout to my family and friends. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their endless support. My best friend Braxton Holme for providing me with this opportunity to interview with ya’ll. Our fashion careers have always intertwined and for that I am grateful. As well as my acting Coach Alex Watson – for always believing in me, and my Manager Vicky Edgemon for taking a chance on me!
