Meet Sarah Beld | Bridal Hair stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Beld and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I am all for the perfect work life balance. I feel with my career I can maintain the balance that I want. In the beginning I said yes to everything and never had any weekends off, I was definitely in the hustle phase and starting to feel the burnout. Once I had my son my perspective changed and now I am only working a few days a week and more motivated to create fun styles without feeling burnt out. This is why I love the bridal industry. It allows me to have more time with my baby at home all while getting to create beautiful hairstyles on the weekends. I never feel like I’m working!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would say what sets me apart is my communication and calmness on the wedding day. I always listen to my brides about the styles they want but I also put in my professional opinion if I feel the style they chose will not suit them. I am a bridal hairstylist and I’ve seen some crazy things when the girls are getting ready in the morning. I strive to be the calming force the bride needs right before she walks down the aisle! It was fairly easy to start out in this industry as I started on a couple teams and started making my connections that way. Now I am on my own and starting to grow my own team! I did have to push myself to get out of my shell and become more outgoing because I am the most introverted person.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start out at Rad Coffee and grab a drink and then go explore downtown upland and do some shopping. Or even visit the farmers market on Saturday. We could go up to Mount Baldy and do a hike and grab some lunch. Although the beach isn’t in our city, I would have to take them to Laguna beach and visit treasure island and go to the tide pools, then finish off our beach trip with some gelato!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate this to my boyfriend Michael and our baby boy Avery. He has always been so supportive with my business ventures!
